He's actually a very good player - I watched him a few times in la liga, but like a lot of pampered English players who wouldn't dream of breaking out of their bubble he hasn't adapted. It happens sometimes. If he goes back to Celta Vigo or wherever he came from he'll be alright again! Probably just twisting to get a move away.

Basically he wants out but then the quotes from the BBC article certainly aren't meant to be taken seriously. I guess he was just trying to be humourous, to make the Spanish radio interviewer laugh with the obligatory bad joke about the English weather. You'll find plenty of bad jokes about the English weather all around the continent. In France they have the one that goes "I was in England last year and believe me it only rained a couple of times -the first time from January to June and the second time from July to December." In Germany they have an even worse one about an Englishman looking pretty disgusted at the pub so his mates ask him "what's wrong with you?" and he goes "I dunno, I can't take all this rain anymore..." So the others go "come on, we're used to it..." and he answers "sure we are but last night the weather was so bad I actually had to stay home and have sex with my wife..." At least Brexit will save you from the rather underwhelming continental sense of humour.

And by the way, Vigo is cool but then isn't what we'd call a typical holiday destination: rainy, windy, rather grey with a huge industrial harbour, lots of factories and warehouse plants -not your usual Costa Del Sol resort at all, like.
