I saw her and Robert Palmer fronting a band called Vinegar Joe at an all-nighter at the Roundhouse in about 1971-72. They must have been on early because I remember seeing them - always conked out in a corner at some point.

Saw her couple years ago and was gobsmacked how good she still was. Listened to Johnnie Walker do a one hour special with her over the bank holiday and she was so lovely, not remotely up herself.

Yeah she's cracking for her age. I loved Vinegar Joe, real rockin' band especially when you think they spawned the M.O.R Robert Palmer and torch Singer Elkie!

I thought Vinegar Joe played at the Town Hall, sometime in the early 70's. It was before Pearls a Singer was released I think, could be fake news of course knowing my memory.
