Does seem a shame we didn't get Martin as from all the talk about him he seemed a great prospect. This other keeper does seem to have signed out of the blue but he does appear to have a bit of pedigree saving penalties against Man City.

I would imagine he'd be our first choice now what with having played some league games.

Thanks for the memories Jim, but you can't say you were'nt given a chance to sign your deal.

EDIT: - Just seen this message from a Rovers Fan on their site:

Likewise, I always felt the back four had little to no confidence in him. Had the odd fantastic game but far too inconsistent. Very, very dubious on crosses for a Keeper of his size.

Can't say he'll be missed.

I do hope we havent signed Martin Hollund mk2!

Can't have been exactly brilliant if Donny released him

refred refred refred

Fair dues he was a decent shot stopper but couldn't catch a cross to save his life. I remeber having to close my eyes when we gave away a corner, it was like giving the opposition a penalty.

And don't get me started on the cruyff turns he used to do......

As I remember it, Ritchie was on trial when we nipped in and offered him a contract.
Plus he did have a bit of previous with the Wendies

I thought Martin Hollund was a decent keeper, some of the saves he made were outstanding. I also liked the cruyff turns, I remember one game he took on 3 attactkers from a back pass. He used to struggle to reach the half way line with some of his kicks though.

I always thought Hollund was better than that idiot Taffy anyway.....

I was gutted when we release Hollund before Taffy but it all worked out in the end.

Headlander? Have you moved to the Midlands???

Not at all, the bloke might turn out to be an inspired signing.
I'm just disappointed that we keep getting our hopes built up
that we are building a team for the future i.e The Championship,
with signings like Martin and Duffy. Then we end up with players
who on the face of it are of a lower class.

Well on the brightside, I'm not sure anyone had heard of any of the Wigan players who got promoted to the Premiership either. Hopefully it's all about how they're managed and coached.

No, they flirted with it but in the end it was Sheff Utd, Charlton and Watford. If they had it wouldn't have been with a team of unknowns though, they signed name players after they got promoted. I liked that kid who went to Fulham, Jimmy Bullard, he came right through from League 2 to the Prem with Wigan. Wigan signed him from non-league.

I agree with LeicsPoolie, why haven't we splashed out on getting a a quality keeper? We have lost a very important player in Dimi and replaced him with two keepers who have hardly played in the past couple of seasons.

It appears he didn't get his game at Doncaster because he had a bust up with O'Driscoll.
Give these guys a chance I'm sure they'll be just great.
