But this appointment just stinks of cost cutting and a lack of ambition. I'm really disappointed if this is true. I don't think he'll do a particularly bad job, but I doubt he'll set the world on fire either.

It smells of a CEO who doesn`t have a scooby on how to release and pick new players, people within who liked him and want him back due to how he was sacked and his belief he can turn this shower into a conference winning team on the back of being in charge for 4 games and not losing.
Oh and having no money, debt ridden club and Coxhalls fingers lingering in the pie!

I have just voted in a last ditch attemot to get collins ridiculous percentage down.

I suppose the one good thing of a collins appointment:

He will have no excuses if he fails, and he cant claim he needs time to turn things around. He knows exactly how little money there will be, and so cant moan when he is left with the shit at the bottom of the pile to work with.

On sayig that if its Dave Jones previous number two, then that highlights sgaes complete disregard for everyone.

It has to be someone new, it has to be.

Sam would do a very good job imho

He's a strong character, partly the reason Jones sacked him, and he isn't a yes man.

Collins with Ronnie Moore?? and Ian McGuckin ( UEFA A licensed coach) and Sweens as his team would be good for us.

Don't forget the club is in chaos off the field and anyone with genuine potential just isn't going to come here and potentially risk ruining their CVs. We'll be picking from a bunch of failed managers and nobody can accuse Sam of that.

You know things like working for a cowardly absent chairman, have a HR man deciding who the playing squad is and significantly reduced income isn't going to get the bright young things beating a path

Too short a time span to be someone new, if they advertised it, it would be a week before they received the CV`s, Collins with Bates as no 2.

He may well do a good job.

And if he gets it I hope he does.

I would rather Pam showed some ambition. She wants everyones money afterall.

I can't help thinking Pam will opt for a name she feels will appease the fans since the budget isn't there to excite them.

She's desperate to sell season tickets, I'm convinced that's her only concern right now, and getting a manager the fans won't be pissed off by is the bare minimum she can do.

What about Gary Brabin? Suspiciously short stay at Tranmere but was 4 points off the top when let go and has lots of non-league managerial experience?

Stay clear, he's an absolute prick. Think of a scouse Martin Gray.

Wasn't sure on Collins until I heard the Cooper rumour.
Would liked to have seen someone new come in, Harrison or in a dream world Kenny Jackett.

I voted Martin Allen. He's a bit of a gentleman's part but I think he'd do a great job.

We're going to get the managerial equivalent of a welded patch on an exhaust. It's cheap and buys time.
FFS buy a new exhaust.

I hear a drinks can with fire clay and several jubilee clips can perform a similar function ....jeez.

Hmm the two favourites are people we recently paid off.

Have we paid Cooper off yet? Could avoid an outgoing there...

You mean maybe with him coming over from Switzerland for the job he is owed a considerable sum and rehiring him would save a pay off and then hiring a manager aswell?

Surely only happen at a club on the bones of its arse?

You are suggesting Jones didn't sign a contract but his two assistants did?

I think it's fair to assume everyone has a contract and an exception is the odd thing.

Good shout ! tell you what, you have him and we'll have Coleman

Personally I would reserve judgement on Armstrong at the moment, but you're right , he is doing well. Would be interesting to see where he can take Blyth next season , playing at a higher level, if they do well and we were looking for a manager ( good chance we will be ) then he would have to be a serious contender.

Mr Horden you know your local leagues better than me, but surely if alum Armstrong does VERY well next season he might be managing blyth in a higher division than pools?

That is quite possible , if that scenario played out the chance of getting him would probably be gone, he would either stay at Blyth or go to a club further up the food chain than us.

I would imagine though that Blyth would fall a bit short next season, but if they were to say , get beat in the play offs, then going for Armstrong would make sense.

Would have no problem having a look at him now though, maybe as an assistant with a view to becoming manager in the future.

don,t think coleman would go down too well at pools. not all the fans love him at accrington with his outbursts and lack of substitutions in games. still think alun armstrong would be a good choice and certainly above any ex manager or player.
