Love to see him sign, still only 32 and would be a hell of a player in the conference.

You're dead right, we do need a show of intent as to where we're going, because at present they haven't got a fucking clue.!

Here is my take if Collins gets the managers job Mirifn will come as player coach. This should have happened back in January.

Stuff the coaching, purely as a player.

Scunthorpe are showing intent by releasing Mirfin. They want to get into the Championship, and realise the players who lost in this seasons play offs and narrowly missed out on last seasons play offs, will not get them there.

Mirfin will be a great asset to any team , such as Rochdale, wanting to give it a good go at the play offs next season, but with not much money to spend. He would also be a good acquisition for someone like Tranmere or Forest Green coming up from the National League, or even Carlisle.

Had we stayed in League 2 he may of also came here, though I imagine his wage demands would be too much for us.

There is no way he would sign for us in the National League unless we were prepared to offer George Reynolds at Darlo style wages, and don't think that's likely.

Realistically a show of intent for me , would be signing someone like Michael Nelson, he may even be prepared to take a pay cut, now that will be more to our liking
