Here is the list of our finishing positions since promotion to league 1 in 2007.

League 1:
2007-8 - 15th
2008-9 - 19th
2009-10 - 20th
2010-11 - 16th
2011-12 - 13th
2012-13 - 23rd

League 2:
2013-14 - 19th
2014-15 - 22nd
2015-16 - 16th
2016-17 - 23rd

Not one season in the top half. That is a long period of poor seasons. Slow painful demise from the EFL.

In many ways it feels longer too.

Just behind Charlton and Coventry who not long ago were in the premier league. West Ham are only a few places above that so not really a useful tool.

I was going to list a whole lot of reasons for that but they all boil down to the same thing - loss of ambition.
You can't really hope for any better when the club itself is just going through the motions.

I'd go for we've had one decent season since we got to the playoff final..

Had no idea Burton produced that many different league teams. And Rotherham.

Indeed Mr Shore. Anyone can obviously move the bounds to suit their point, like between 2000 and 2007 we only once finished lower than seventh.
But since 2007 it's not even been once above 12th. So the OP's point is fair, and comparisons with anyone else but ourselves are unnecessary.
