IF we are in National league next season then a trip to Halifax is possible. They beat Salford after extra time on penalties. Salford missed 3 including one by one J Poole!

Have family in Halifax so fingers crossed they don't go up, I don't want to risk getting beat by them

Cracking day out last time I went, around 2002, won 2-0.

See your point HonestPoolie but Yorkshire surely better than the deep south someplace?

Halifax much easier to get to than Chorley.
Mind you Chorley is a proper old school ground, seems stuck in the 80s. Love it!

Halifax is a proper old school club. It would be a pleasure to return. Hopefully no freezing mudbanks on a aTuesday night in February!

:-o Got this horrible feeling that Mark Cooper is going to take 6 Forest Green fans to wembley and win against Tranmere and their 30,000. Honestly thought he was Pools' best ever signing back in the day but...have to keep my thoughts to myself over what happened then. Here's my solution to get out of the National League at first attempt: Sign Les Green, Ernie Pythian, Michael Brown, Ted Legge from Rockly Rangers and the core of Thatchem United (Football Family Robinson).. And a must..make Ma Robinson manager. No truck there and a sure fire way to come back at first attempt. Sorry younger Poolies but you will have to look up who I am on about. Older Poolies will tell you about Les Green and Ernie. Michael Brown will be (or maybe will) be seen in town someplace and in div 4 with Port Vale. Ted Legge the legend was in the Valiant comic in the 60s and The Football Family Robinson were in the Jag comic same era. Well come on Poolies you have to have some sort of release after yesterday.

Chorley is close to me so I'd like them to come up.

Would love another trip to The Shay. Halifax were my granddad's team, always used to be fun when we played them.

Decent stadium now as well, I would say Championship standard, has a 2nd tier continental feel about it.

Remember standing outside the Shay pub - group of police horses trotted down the rain soaked cobbles and ...............woosh....horse trips and copper falls off.........................horse bolts for it............

Assorted Poolies start chanting.......'he fell over, he fell over' whilst laughing............cue the Pride of West Yorkshire arriving in a blue transit van, truncheons at the ready.

Aye, loved the Shay but it is there that I really lost all respect for the local plod. They were arseholes, every match....
