We'll start favourites for a cup for the first time in our history and actually have a decent chance of winning it.

(Subject to still being around)

Don't think we should get too carried away by one game. This was still a team that managed to lose to Orient, Newport, Cheltenham, etc when it mattered, and if you look at our form from the second half of the season it is pretty bloody horrendous.

Will need at least 4 or 5 real quality players bringing in, a good manager, and I don't know where the money will come from to fund it. Also think we will struggle to get loan players in now we can no longer give them League experience.

On the balance of the form we have shown in the last 6 months, we are a mid table Conference Team at best. And like you say, that's assuming we even start the season in the Conference, which at the moment is no certainty.

Unbelievable that people getting carried away by yesterdays performance, FFS ! their lives depended on it. I cant run very fast, but if I was getting chased by a dozen skinheads carrying axes, you would see me run fast. All they did was put a shift in, still lacked the quality required, it was only Rodney who made the difference, with 2 well taken goals that required the composure so often lacking in our forward line. No doubt he will be offered a 3 year contract as a result, though I reckon that was his 15 minutes of fame, and wont be able to do it on a regular basis, like the other Rodney we had a couple of years back, who couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo, but then hit a hat trick v Bradford in the Mickey Mouse Cup.

Had we stayed up I would have expected a big clear out. However in the National league I think most of them could do a decent job. Some new faces needed certainly but not as many as it might have been.

We still need a big clear out. It's not going to be a League for kids or people who aren't physically up for the challenge.

Scott Fenwick who we know played for York last season said its a totally different kind of football, Pools will require far more physical players next season.

We have Magnay and Paynter who could be remotely described as physical.

Maybe a physical league but Deverdics and Amond have excelled at that level before. It's all about balance.

We need some nasty bastards at the back. Think Toto but hopefully someone less error prone and with a bit more experience.

True but we were favourites then too. I'm not assuming anything, I know how big a job we have just to make it into the conference next season, its not a given.

It's entirely possible we could be in a league a couple of levels below Darlo.

Jones Paynter Richards Woods Bates and possibly Alessandra plus a couple of youngsters. Deverdics hasn't impressed but has done well in Conference for Dover.
