If only we could have played with this passion and desire in the previous 6 games

Look.....when are you and others going to realise that goals win football matches and the more quality strikes you have on goal, the more goals you score. We now need a minimum of two goals to win this game. Our can't shoot , won't shoot attitude will not get those two goals. For the next forty five minutes we have to work the goalkeeper. Bates should be drumming that into the players.
What would I do????? Bring Connor Simpson on. At least he looks like he wants to score.

I was talking about passion and desire, which we have been sorely lacking.

We will need to play like that for 46 matches next season if we are to put up a decent show in the National League.

I am also talking about passion and desire......the passion and desire to work the goalie and score more goals than the opposition, which doesn't happen unless you make it happen, which we don't.

Quality attempts on target and we could pull this off, especially as Notts have equalised.

Crushed. We are just one of those teams which cannot rely on luck! We've never been known to be lucky.

Need to do everything in our powers to reclaim our club back. Should never have come to this, gambling our football league status during the transfer window to service Coxall's debt has backfired massively. Well fucking done now get the fuck away from our club.

Need to keep Rodney, Walker and Amond. Carson would be a bonus.

But sadly I see a firesale coming.

Matty Bates for manager anyone? Got more from the team today than Jones ever did against the team that otherwise would have won the league.

Won't get any money for Rodney, be surprised to see an offer for Walker.
Amond is proven at that level so if sold shows there's no ambition to return first time around.

Different type of players required now.....the entire defence and midfield have to go.
Get money for Carson and Thomas.....Probably only Amond to stay but someone will probably come in for him.

Man of the match for me today - never stopped. The kind of effort you want to see every game.

Can't argue regards Allesandra. Adds to how disappointing his season has been knowing how well he can play.

Strange sight, a bench that cared when the goals went in.

Newport didn't relegate us. Captain Jones ran the ship onto the rocks, we nearly saved it too. His disastrous tenure did for us nearly as much the 'C' word ex chairman.

Yes Jones who sneered his way around the place like we were dirt on his shoe.
Fat tosser with no regard for anyone other than his mighty inflated ego, hope he never works again.

I'm only just starting to come round. Can't remember the 2hr drive home really. I thought I'd resigned myself to relegation but no way I could've prepared myself for that. Just numb when I came out and all the way home. Neither me nor the lad knew what to say to each other. No idea.

It's actually helped reading stuff on here.

It might be a bit cheesy but I'm proud as fuck to be a Poolie after being part of that atmosphere.

Just watched rodneys goal back about 20 times. .I have to say it was the best feeling I've ever had going to pools in 37 years when that ball hit the net to be wiped out 7 minutes later.
You all played your part yesterday pools fans are unbelievable ,you did the players the club the town proud and I'm humbled to be 1 of you ...absolute class #ptid

I thought Oates also played with an intensity that we should hold onto for the comeback

Funny thing is, on Rodney's brief appearances of the bench he was dumped into midfield.

I agree no6bus......on reflection we need that level of effort every single game......especially in conference.
Based on that alone I would probably keep Oates, I don't imagine he is a big earner either.

Oates will run all day and he bust a gut yesterday, but 'intensity' isn't everything. His lack of composure first half when a rebound put him clean through on goal was really poor. Contrast with the chances Rodney put away.

There was nothing to suggest him and Amond were on the same wavelength; on the contrary, they had a good shout at each other towards the end of the first half. Amond is the guy who can score 20+ goals for Pools next season (per the post from the Bristol Rovers fan) and he needs a strike partner he can play off and work with.

And if we're going to talk about players... Surely it's time Featherstone was shown the door? I don't look at facebook and I haven't been one of Featherstone's regular detractors, but his performances while Pools were sinking towards relegation have been abject and he was useless again yesterday.

Captain Courageous? Captain Invisible more like.

Yesterday decided Featherstone's fate for me. Too easily brushed off the ball and not enough influence on the pitch.

Must say that even aside from his goals, Rodney impressed me. Great touch and composure. Strange really how his signing came about and yet he may have been lauded as a hero but for Newports late winner
