What's going on behind the scenes is obviously taking precedent but we can't not have a thread for tomorrow's game can we?

What would your line up be? Does Donnelly get a slightly undeserved recall? Do we go straight up 442 or a 451 variant?

I'd be tempted to go with this

Carson
Magnay
Harrison
Walker
Donnelly
Featherstone
Woods
Thomas
Alessandra
Oates
Amond

Or I may go 451 take out Oates and bring in Deverdics just behind Amond with Featherstone and Woods playing deeper like a 4231. In fact I think I'd go for the latter first half then see where we're at. Depressing thinking about the permutations of that squad

What would you go with?

I'd be tempted to put Magnay or Donnelly in midfield in the hope of a bit of protection for the defence.

You can't keep picking Woods and Featherstone together they have been hopeless recently.

I'd go;

........................Carson....................

Richards....Walker....Harrison.....Magnay
...............Donnelly...Hawkins.......

Allesandra.......Amond...............Thomas

......................Oates..........................

Stopped reading at Featherstone/Woods/Thomas.

It's all about opinions but at the end of the day we have too many players who are just not good enough.

Pick your team don't just have a pop.

Thomas has to play for me, you surely aren't going to suggest picking that young kid who left the field after the Barnet game virtually in tears to the point that someone in the Town End shouted him over and actually gave him a hug? Yeah he seems ready. For a start before you even go into that he's all right foot. Thomas should start on the left wing and we should try and play to his strengths.

I get the Featherstone/Woods thing and no they don't combine well, none of our midfield combinations do. I might be inclined to hoy Donnelly in next to Featherstone and shift Magnay to left back and Richards in at right back.

We can't make the team stronger either way, if we went with the above then the midfield centre is very slightly strengthened but very weak at full back, viceversa if you put Woods back in and Donnelly in at left back (even though he's been awful there lately). I suppose the call you'd make with that is where Donny are strongest and I've got no idea if they use the center or flanks better. Either way I'm sure they'll cause us problems in both areas so just a case of pick a team then clench your arse cheeks for 90 minutes

Can't make my mind up about Donnelly. On the one hand his last outing ended in absolute disgrace, on the other if he's given another chance he should be absolutely busting his balls to make up for the Orient fiasco.
Given that he has returned to the club & is probably a better bet at left back than either Magnay or Richards I would be tempted to put him in. Understand if I get shot down in flames, like.

I'd have had more respect for Donnelly if it had been Jones he eyeballed at the end of the Orient game.

I think the Treatment Room will send out the same side that they did last week and hope for a better outcome. Amen to that.

Your posts are completely embarrassing from a grown man.

I only asked you for your team, everyone else has posted one and I disagreed about leaving out Thomas. I know he's been awful but this is the last chance saloon and he's our only real match winner, he's got to play in a one off match we must win. It's not a time for kids, seeing that young lad at the end of the Barnet game was awful, a toxic atmosphere that didn't deserve to be part of. Tomorrow is potentially worse with a full house on TV against a good team.

It's possible to disagree with someone without pathetic insults.

Can't get my head around Bates not playing himself. The majority of our clean sheets have been when he has played. I would of thought in his position he would want to lead from the front, organise and motivate and get in amongst it. Mind boggling imo that he thinks otherwise.

It's down to fitness I reckon in that Barnet game he played looked like he'd been erm enjoying his time off.

carson. harrison bates walker. alexandra woods featherweight magnay thomas. oates amond

and that is what i expected at cheltenham

bates would/should have a calming effect on the younger players.
this would only work if thomas decided to play for the TEAM.

Well that's one of three things:

1) made up bollocks
2) bullshit to lull Doncaster into thinking he isn't playing or
3) Thomas telling the lads to shove it up their arse after being subbed last week

I think Donny tend to play the dopey looking (but decent striker) Marquis as a lone striker. So if we play two in centre midfield then I don't fancy our chances. I understand people wanting us to go for it but we need to be realistic as well
