I'm going to walk to Lands End with no training wearing a pair of flip flops.

I'm not even taking a coat.

There seems to be a healthy amount of support from ex-players for the Trust which is a huge plus.

I know it wouldn't exactly match the 'Manchester United legends' match, but supporters groups like Rangers are regularly putting on games with ex-players to raise money. There seems to be enough interest in the reunion dinners for something along those lines to be put on which could use Billingham's ground or something.

Whole point of a Trust is community engagement though I suppose, so you'd really need events that would entice people who've supported pools 5 years or 50.

I'm happy to fail this final year of uni and take out another student loan in order to finance the bus to Solihull Moors though, if that's any help. Complementary tinnies for an away win included.

Viva la revolución.

Long time lurker, first time poster. I became a member of the HUST today as it is clear that we are entering a pivotal time in our clubs history. To address the topic at hand I think we first need to assess if the things we already have in place are doing everything they can. What I mean by this is that I see there are official HUST social media accounts but they aren't doing a whole lot. I can't speak about Facebook as I deactivated my account 3 months ago but 480 tweets in 2 years doesn't seem like enough activity for an organisation that needs members.

There is huge value to be had in buying ads on social media platforms. On Facebook for example you can buy ads very cheaply and target them at whoever you want. You might make a post about how important signing up for a annual membership is right now and target it specifically at adult males that live in Hartlepool. You can do a similar thing with promoted Tweets. Does HUST have an instagram page? IT SHOULD. Let's fully utilize the tools we already have as well as doing the old school stuff like sponsored walks!

The Facebook page needs to be changed from a group to an organisation page, it will be far more professional and will stop people have have an agenda with any of the trust board being able to have a pop as the trust will release the statement not an individual.

I also think the twitter page could be more proactive and engage with more people.

I hope these suggestions come across as constructive feedback as they are intended.

At the moment I believe Darlington are trying to raise funds with the aim of being fan owned, what about trying to arrange a match between ex Pools and Darlington players with proceeds split between the two clubs, even over two legs home and away ?

The Supporters Association are holding a Table Top Sale in the Corner Flag on Sunday May 28th. Several tables have already been booked. This is a good opportunity for the Trust to raise some funds. Tables can be booked by contacting Eric Wilson in the C.F. before or after the game on Saturday, or any Friday night before 9pm.

Sadly I think the police costs would dwarf anything raised. Anything between the two clubs would be a magnet for trouble, especially given the length of time since we've played them.

I just bought a load of table tops sadly. Bad timing.

Well I have joined the Trust and have full admiration for the people running it and wish them well.
I just hope we can be as successful as Exeter but you have to remember that they got an excellent start with the sale of a player who I believe they got amillion pound for plus two cup games against Man Untd. However if Darlington can do it, and hats off to them the way they have managed, we can do it. Hands in your pocket lads!

Up until recently we could of had a tournament between HUFC fan groups. That's all in the past now though!

Anyone got plenty of time to auction stuff on eBay?
We could donate stuff and take to a central collection point. Sell it on eBay with the proceeds going to HUST.
One week unwanted cd's/LP's etc, next week unwanted sport equipment, golf clubs etc.
People can get rid of stuff that has some value but is unwanted and contribute at the same time.

If you promise to break(don't really want that to happen  ) or sprain your ankle before you leave your street, then I'll sponsor. PS Mr PJ how high are the kerbs in your street (insurance purposes only)? :-D

Some good ideas on here, especially the ones about use of social media. The close season is almost upon us and we don't want to lose the momentum that has recently built up. There needs to be a big push because my guess is that there are a lot more people, and businesses that would be interested in coming on board but need it to be as easy as possible for them to do so.
What about buying a membership for someone as a present - and they could receive a free pin badge or something as a keepsake - or a signed photo of the Trust president
