I know theres a lot of negative about the ownership and rightly so but we still have a team that's managed to win games since January.

We'd still be out of the bottom 2 if we'd managed to find a win in our last three (winnable) games. Even some hard earned draws would have done the trick.

I hate the owners as much as anyone else but that's anger. When it comes to the players I'm just plain disappointed. Teams three leagues below could have scraped points when they haven't. We just seem so soft.

My dad goes to a few games a year and barely recognises the players...every time. And I don't think that's anything to do with his age. There's no one to like, no one with any history to the club. It's hartlepool in name but pretty much nothing else. I live in hope we work things out and recover from wherever we end up. I long for a day again when I can get excited for a game and we can actually live up to that excitement.

The squad was in desperate need of some new blood in January and instead we sold players.

We needed a spark and instead we got sold dreams of hotels.

We had no left backs in the squad today. Magnay played there and put a shift in. He tried but it's not his fault he's not a left back.

You can identify 4/5 positions that have needed new players in that didn't arrive.

The blame 100% lies at the people running this club

Coxall has managed to completely ruin every aspect of the club. Never mind this "i've made a few mistakes" crap he trotted out this week, the bloke has totally failed in his job. He's failed with every business he has stuck his grubby fingers in yet somehow he manages to bullshit his way through, always managing to find some mug to pay him a wage.

Bates said on the radio today that the instructions he got from Coxall was "do what you can". That was the extent of the help he could offer. Coxall has reduced our club to having a night club owner managing a spineless set of players and thats the best he can do to help.

It's a lifestyle business the bloke is a chancer, he acquired a Football Club with a £2.5 million+ turnover and made himself chairman with no aptitude or competence for the role but because he's wormed his way in he can pay himself a salary befitting of someone in that position.

The fact that an utter c u n t like him and his even more odious mate Goldberg or whatever the fuck he's called ever got their disgusting hands on Hartlepool United breaks my heart.

Gary if you are reading this you are the worst thing that has ever happened to Hartlepool United. Please fuck right off now, do not come anywhere near next week. My biggest dread is that I'm fairly sure the game will be on telly so you'll get your undeserving grubby mits on more money and the real people at the heart of this brilliant little club will be shown up and upset on national TV.

I just think this is letting the players off lightly. If all the focus is on the toxic owners it feels like it absolves the players of any blame. They've shown us they are capable of winning games. But so many times they've failed to turn up at all. Totally abject.

The players are maybe not good enough but well know/knew that, the blame lies in the main with Coxall he has destroyed every area of the club. It doesn't even feel like a club to me anymore.
I dread going and that is fuckin ridiculous.

Another superb post. There can't be any ostriches still out there and not looking the real facts in the face anymore....surely no......right?

We should all be angry, furious, determined to expose this fraud that is currently running this club. We should not sit back by quietly and should be loudly and aggressively (and that does not mean violently) demanding our club back

Hang on a sec here, lets actually look at the team.

Magnay - Came from non league
Richards- Through the ranks, a low paid squad player
Harrison - Released by Sunderland then released by Pools. Then re-signed despite it originally decided not good enough
Walker- Through the ranks- many suspected he had played his last game for the club last season.

Featherstone- Came from non league
Woods- Came from non league
Amond- Came from non league
Hawkins- Through the ranks, another squad player

We must be the only club in the lower leagues that cant manage to get a decent loan player from a Premiership club on the pitch for them.

Our business model is to cobble together a squad of lowly paid kids, journeymen, and lads trying to step up. Then the owners sit back and watch 3000 season tickets get sold and the Football League money come in.

The January transfer window is seen as an opportunity to sell any players we can get a fee for without re-investing a penny.

Of course the players aren't much good, you pay peanuts you get monkeys. At least in years gone by we have managed to bring in decent loan players ( Williams, Burgess, Jackson, Mirfin, Tshibola, Hughill, Bird, etc ) to beef up the playing squad and add some quality.

Not this season, we haven't even bothered doing that. We haven't even been able to fill the bench at times FFS.

We have gone into the most important games in the clubs history and been forced to bring untried kids off the bench- Rodney at Orient, Blackford against Barnet, Simpson today.

We haven't got a target man up front, we haven't got a ball winner in midfield, we haven't got a centre half worth talking about. It is an absolute fucking disgrace that we have gone out this year and paid good money to bring in a Finance Officer and a Head of Recruitment, a manger, and 3 or 4 coaches, and NOT BOTHERED SIGNING ANY FUCKING PLAYERS.

Newport are fans owned, get 2000 gates, and signed about a dozen in January - where the fuck has the money at Pools gone ?

One man and one man only to blame for this fucking mess.

This all over

Fully agree Yubep, thankfully the ostriches well and truly appear to be in the minority now

It's been my misfortune to have met a number of guys like Coxall over the years.

They run complicated organisations, robbing Peter to pay Paul and always, always come unstuck - the problem is, they just start again the next day leaving a trail of debt and destruction behind.

I said when he arrived that he was a chancer - no substance and definitely no track record of success in business - these guys always refer to themselves as "serial entrepreneurs " - which is bullshit-speak for "regular failures ".

My guess is that he's been taking a nice wage from the club and paying out fees to his cronies (love the bricklayer crack) for doing what could be done either cheaper or for free.

Hopefully he will see the writing on the wall and go back to whatever bits of his empire are still afloat.

It's a sad state of affairs for sure.

The comparison to those 2 fictional character is harsh on the fictional characters and very soft on 'our Gary' I think

I would just like to add to Chips opinion of the players and say I believe this team would find it hard to compete in the Conference. I could not believe back in August when the rose tinted specs brigade thought we could challenge for the play offs. We were weak then and got weaker.
