H'Angus is voting Tory, according to yesterday's Guardian.

Ricky Tomlinson - isn't one miserable Scouser enough?

It needs to be a big name or celeb if you are a labour supporter otherwise anything could happen.

Some pools connection possibly.......Dimi (EU remainer presumably), the spirit of Brian Clough (socialist), Richie Humpheries (players union)...............??????????

Will a well spoken 30 something from the Home Counties be parachuted in? Is the local party allowed to pick a candidate or have the party nationally got the choice ?

regardless of who it is unless someone stands up the tories the country wil be fucked forever for the working class.

if hartlepool votes tory it will be the end of politics in this country. We will be a one party state.

not saying I want labour to win the election just get enough seats to be an opposition.

The country is fucked anyway.

Unemployment is low - due to zero hours contracts.
The national debt is up to its highest ever level - but the right wing press still bleat on about Labour in 2007.

The NHS is on the verge of collapse to be replaced by private health care such as that ran by Virgin.

The tories broke electoral rules on spending and up to 30 are facing criminal charges - none of whom have been blocked from standing for election by May.

The Tories have been in power for 7 years, and people still consider voting for them despite what is going on around them. We live in a nation of ostriches.

Next Labour candidate, there are one or two members of the local Labour Party, who might just fancy it but are capable of losing the seat..

I worry a little about the council, no matter what you think of our council, they have saw through Green, Hodcroft and Coxall and done us such a good turn in refusing to sell the ground, yet Ive seen UKIP and Putting Hartlepool first candidates (and maybe Wells of the Conservatives??) critiscing them for that, more UKIP or PHF councillors would worry me..on the MP please god this town doesnt embarras itself by electing UKIP its only MP, personally Id love to see us become a Labour/Conservative marginal, then national governments might start showing a bit of interest in the town

Some bloke who drinks in the Belle Vue Club I heard. A Blairite Labour person told me, said the bugger hasn't even got a GCSE , since when did that stop anyone from being a good MP, that's the problem with self righteous t*ats in the right wing of the Labour Party. Anyway your town is fooked regardless of who your MP is.

I just hope it's a very close result in the town for whoever. It's a foregone conclusion that Theresa will romp home with a huge majority and hopefully that will force the Labour Party to choose a leader who has some respect in Westminster and the country. That man is Hilary Benn.

Massive majorities are never a good thing for the country.
