15 May 1982 first time I went to Blackpool v Pools. Bus stopped on the way there by the police who threatened to detain all on board for something that happened on a food stop. Arrived early in Blackpool and got absolutely pissed and then went behind the goal with maybe a couple of hundred Pools fans standing on terraces with no roof..ahh the good old days. Bob Newton latches on to a one on one and beats their keeper. 2-1 to Pools up our end. Celebrations equally from us lot and from burly Bob as only he could celebrate. Blackpool got a late equaliser and it finished 2-2. Never forget that goal and celebrations. The other side of Bob Newton is of course well documented. The Newton Houchen partnership was something to be cherished in an absolute guano team. Dunno what will happen this saturday at Blackpool. One thing is certain and that is Pools will be much better supported but I don't suppose you will see any Poolies on account of Blackpool's camera angles. Come on Pools nowt to beat! clappp

I always remember Midgley and Miller seeing time out in the corner getting one throw in after another to frustrate the Blackpool players. It seemed to go on forever as they just took the Mickey wit her big smiles on their faces.

was the game and I am sure Tommy Miller scored with an outrageous lob just past the 1/2 way line.

That's the one I remember too. Can't recall the goals particularly, but will always remember Craig Midgley getting lumps kicked out of him right in front of where we were stood ( sat ? ) & all the Pools fans laughing their arses off.
