We have some cracking players. Just the balance of the squad and the lack of quality in key areas that have let us down. Add to that some shoddy tactics from hignett.

Carson is a top keeper
Magnay is adequate.
Walker looks to be the real deal at centre back
Harrison seems back to his old self.
Bates is decent when fit
Donnelly is good
Featherstone is a classy player
Woods is a good squad player if not a little inconsistent.
Thomas is championship level when fit
Allesandra is great but inconsistent
Amond is class at this level

Richardson, Oates, Deverdics are all decent enough as back up.

We are short of the following...

Left back
A Mirfin type centre back
A midfielder with a bit of bite
A winger or two.
Another striker to replace Paynter.


Add those to the list at the top and we'll be competitive. It won't happen like...

Be very surprised if theres more than 9 off this current squad kept on in May.
A decent squad of 19 + 2/3 loanies.
Just hope Jones n Coxhall can attract some decent players like Stevenage etc!

Stevens still banging the goals in at Barcelona but heard from his agent he wants to move back to the North East.
Apparantly homesick after his big money move from Crimdon Athletic.
