They are the best team I have seen this season and with our current back four that big lad up front will have an absolute field day. I'm going 4-1 Cambridge.

I really fell for all the bollocks pre Notts County and thought we'd end our abysmal away run and collect the 3 pts but it seems once again we just failed to turn up and put in another abjectly disappointing dis.

As has been said Cambridge will be licking their lips at the thought of our pea hearted bunch of losers and will run up as big a score as they want too.

To have any other outcome will need us to be at it from the first second and we don't do that at home either

I think it's difficult to be that critical of the players to be honest pea hearted bunch of losers is certainty over the top, they are not to blame for us having such thread bare squad. We have kids starting games with barely any league experience and even of the more senior players I don't get the sense that any of them don't care or aren't putting a shift in.

It doesn't matter if we only have 16 players in the squad or they are inexperienced, they could still have a mindset to start each game with the intent that they are going to get at then opposition and give it a bloody good go, instead of what appears to be going through the motions away from home. Waiting till the game is gone before reacting.

They have done this at home too often as well.

That's the criticism and in my view it is down to some, not all, of the players not having enough minerals to assert themselves on games. Some are clearly not talented enough, but give it a bloody go for god sake. Saturday was weak

If he is up Against Featherlite it will be no contest. Just like last Saturday when Sholakicked him around like a rag doll. And Shola us a gentle giant not like Akinfenwa.

Can a mod not change "featherlite" to appear as "im a bellend" or something?

Cringeworthy.

Cambridge will think they'll just have to turn up to win and highly likely as that is I'm going to go for a 3-2 Pools win. We know they are going to score but Thomas will return to his matchwinning self and tear Cambridge a new one, happy to be playing on a pitch that doesn't resemble a ploughed field.

Whenever we expect a cricket score against us we generally never do as bad as expected.

il go for 0-0 or 1-0 to them.

Here are just two comments made by Cambridge fans on their CUFC Unnoficial Forum:

"It really should be nothing other than 3pts against an absolute dogshit side but..."

and

"Definitely a game to start fast and get early goals. If they score first they might forget they are away from home and start playing like they did against Exeter and Plymouth."

I have no idea which Pools team will turn up tomorrow at Cambridge but they (CUFC) could do us a favour on Saturday by doing over Cheltenham Town for us.

Cheltenham? I'd be focusing on whoever playing Newport and Orient as being the ones we want to do us a favour.

3rd bottom has our name written all over it if we stay up

Agree chunky but Cheltenham 1 point above Pools and we play them away on fancy dress day. We need them and Crewe to get sucked down.

No doubt there will be folk celebrating if we do finish third bottom an all, and wanting the players to do a lap of honour.

No wonder the club has zero ambition any more.

The way Jones has been talking about recent broken records (back to back wins, first double etc) should be nothing to celebrate and changing the mentality then I fully expect him to end all that lap of honour shite.

As for Cheltenham, bet its as bad as last year, full of thick as fuck yobs drinking as much as possible and fighting. Im still amazed people feel being drunk is something to be proud of and no doubt they like to post pictures on Facebook of them with a pint in hand  Can understand it when your 16-20 but when your over that and still think its 'cool'

Can I just add I thought this was about Cheltenham races and the scenes that blighted it last year.

I agree, every time somebody types Featherlite it should be replaced with "Tree's a bellend"

Cambridge won 1 of their last 7 at home.

I fancy us to nick a draw for some reason.

Notts county hadn't scored in 7 of 11 at home before we tickled their tummy and Newport had only won once in last 20 games when they sacked Westley, against us obviously.......

The fact Cambridge only won 1 in 7, as I'm sure you know as a seasoned Pools fan, is a guarantee they'll win tonight.

We are like the record slayers......Are you on a sh1t run of form, can't buy a win?? Are you struggling with connecting your banjo to bovine posteriors??? Well fear not. Hartlepool are up next

A bit of poetic licence regarding Notts County they are now unbeaten at home in 6, they are similar to us in that respect (apart from a random win at Plymouth aside) they are picking up points away but not much at away.

How exactly was it poetic license?

The fact remains that prior to Saturday Notts County had failed to score in 7 of their previous 11 league games at home.

It makes it sound like they are in poor form at home when the truth is the opposite of late they have taken 12 points from and are unbeaten at home in the last 6.

They might be very similar to us but a bit like when Orient who seem in absolute disarray, went and beat Plymouth away and then dismantled Newport.

Something we wouldn't do, especially away from home. You just know we aren't going to get anything in away games. It puts far too much pressure on home games and why we are consistently shite

They've taken 10 points from last 11 home league games before Saturday, 7 of the games without scoring

Message for Chip can I clarify? I flippantly called the coming Cheltenham game fancy dress day. I was referring to the historical fact that Pools' fans tend to don fancy dress to a theme on our last away game and probably this season will be no different. Both of us have followed Pools for long enough to know how bad we normally are and how we are viewed by others in football. However, I quite like to hear people miles away from Hartlepool when they ask me who I support reply with, hey you're the ones who go fancy dress last away game of the season and the Jeff Stelling recognition. Come on Chip, the fans haven't had much to cheer about for the last few seasons so let those that want to enjoy a bit of fun and show others we have a sense of purpose and humour even if our team doesen't.

It just shows though how you use stats to back up an argument and to mislead a little bit. That makes it sound like they are currently in terrible home form when the reality is since the new manager has came in they have completely turned it around. A bit like us really who are 5 unbeaten at home since Jones arrival.

Common trick, especially in advertising. It's statistical gerrymandering. Each side chooses boundaries to make the figures fit.

Fantastic night for Cheltenham and Orient's goal difference. Looking more and more promising it won't be that close though.
