Fortunately its only on Central so only PoolieinNottingham and Nottingham Poolie will see it.

It's a 6 week programme where a group of people attend salsa classes from complete beginners through to improvers. An improver is someone who can compentently dance basic salsa moves and survive an entire song on the dance floor without cocking the whole job up. Moves might be basic but they know enough to get through.

Guess who one of the instructors is rolfl

I've actually been salsa dancing a few times and it's really fun. The first couple of times I was knackered. It's keeps you fit that's for sure.

At beginner level it is just that - fun. The downside is that the more serious dancers become quite competitive and (this especially applies to cross body style) far far too serious. Honestly I go to clubs and events sometimes and when the X-body crowd are in its like a freaking ballroom dancing contest.

NB: X-body as opposed to cuban style. There's far to much piroetting and sequins involved in XB in my opinion.

We've been learning cross body in the beginners class.
