Poolie legend and defensive rock Assenso has left the club.

This news has sent shock waves through the world of football.

As Lineker said the game has gone.

Joking aside though... We're playing a midfielder at Centre Half and we're releasing yet another defender.

What the fuck?

Can only assume that him and Harley Wise were way short of league standard. Which begs the question, why were they signed in the first place?

Or, there'll be a few red faces around the shopping precinct where the Vic used to stand when Assenso is turning out for Man City in the Champions League.

Which begs the question... if they weren't good enough why didn't we bring a Centre Half in in January? We really left ourselves exposed to having only 2 centre halves, one of whom only starts 20 games a season?

I guess strikers were the priority mind...

The club's gone fucking bonkers.

Surely a conversation along the lines of 'so we have two fit senior defenders can't even manage to find seven selectable subs and you still aren't deemed good enough to get on the bench' If he isn't involved now I'm struggling to see any circumstances were he's going to play so what's the point in retaining him? We have made some utterly pointless signings this season what fuck is going on behind the scenes? That is seven players that have either left the club altogether or on loan since the start of January.

Thick Assenso actually play one game for the reserves while on trial, he then signed, was injured and then was seen no more?

Being turned into?

Thought we became a joke with the second winding up order and players being paid late.

Assenso was given a short term contract. We had a look at him, found out he was not good enough and chased him. Just think of some of the contracts given out like Richards and Jones for example

What a way to run the club. Oh well we probably save a couple hundred quid a week on salary.

Not including loanees, there are still 26 players on the books according to the OS, including 4 keepers (not counting the Boro lad who is actually playing for the first team!) and 9 defenders (but 3 of them are injured).

The 26 on the OS doesn't include Deverdics and Richards either. Wonder if the kit man has got rid of their wash bags too?

I seem to recall Hignett suggesting last season that the squad was way too big and he would want a much smaller one to work with.

Didn't he sign most of the lads subsequently loaned out or released. Managers do talk utter shyte at times. Usually coincides when their mouths open.

You're right poolietim he did say that, which made sense at the time he wanted to give more time individually. He than created a bigger squad.

I know there's been a lot said about Russ Green on here but I can't help thinking all these unnecessary signings wouldn't have happened had he still been here. He was I feel controlling our budget of course the chairman could of overruled him and maybe that's one of the reasons Russ went. The chairman didn't want to be told, you're going over budget?

I'm confused about Russ Green. Wasn't he the master of the dark art of bellytickling and also the club insider encouraging the TMH plot to knick the club and bleed it dry? Or was he a sound bloke urging financial caution and keeping the clubs best interests at heart while Gary and Goldberg/Arber spunked the budget on thousands of crap young players?

I'd love to hear what Russ Green has to say about the current owners and why he left. No doubt he's signed something meaning he can't discuss these though.
