The pledged 'unwavering support' to him two weeks ago, now they obviously have someone lined up. Classy.

The game is in the absolutely gutter no decency or humanity left in it. Even poor Sutton United get an occasion ruined by horrible scummy 'journalists' and bookies taking advantage of people. Then you get to fucking Pools and the utter mess the club is in owned by God knows intent on doing what is anyone's guess. I'm about done with it all.

Leicester will very likely get what they reserve - back to decades as a Prem/Championship yo-yo club.

Morgan and Huth haven't looked anything better than Championship standard this season. Ranieri has been too loyal to the players who won the title for him.

Apparently it was 'senior players' who stabbed him in the back and went to the owners to suggest that they had lost faith in him.

What ungrateful damned bounders, journeymen footballers like Morgan, Schmeichel and Vardy who last night played in the last 16 of the Champions League not long after playing in the Championship. All of last years good will for Leicester has gone, I think most people would like to see them relegated now. Ranieri's problem is that he's a good man, a gentleman awash in the sea of not nice people that is Premiership football.

I have been done with it for a few years now.

Owners are utter wankers.

Bit worse there are some fans on various sites agreeing with the decision.

They are wankers too and equally as bad for the game.

The sport has gone to hell

Took a step away from the football league for a day about 2 years ago.

Headed to a north Ferriby match when they played in the conference north.

The experience was worth it. Ground was ok. £12 to get in but ultimately it was a group of players who were playing the game because they enjoyed it. Reminded me of the time I stared watching pools before the premier league started, banter, graft and a nice day out.

I enjoyed it more than I have at pools for quite a few seasons now.

Worth a look if you want to get away from everything that is wrong with the game.

Man Utd fans don't deserve any better to be fair.

Ranieri's recent interviews have hinted that he knew his time was almost up. Saying something has to change and the only thing that can change outside a transfer window is the manager. I hope Ranieri gets himself a good job as he seems to have a genuine love of the game and he manages without abusing officials or opponents as far as I can remember. Compared to Mourinho and Guardiola he's different class and in the last year he's won more Premier League trophies.

Shocking decision, they are not completely out of the champions league yet and not relegated. He deserved to stay until the end of the season and give it a go. If the owners give you a vote of confidence you are fucked.

my lad supports a non league side and i occasionally go to games with him. i too went to north ferriby once and what surprised me was the number of their fans wearing hull city jackets. been asked at other grounds which other team i support. no you can keep the non league odd ball scene for me. the players might not be prima donnas but the officials are really shocking. there,s something between the greedy league and non league, its where we all are at the moment. its just about getting ones house in order.

As a special birthday "treat" I went with three mates to see Berwick Rangers play Clyde last year. Enjoyed it so much we're planning Edinburgh City v Cowbenbeath this April. I can't believe I'll be watching the Blue Brazil.

Wasn't the case when I went. Watched them play lowestoft. Crowd were not segregated. Could move around to where you wanted to stand. It had a nice feel.

Aa far as non league fans suporting other teams, how many league 2 teams - including pools - have man utd, Liverpool, Sunderland and Boro as their other team?

Edinburgh play at the old Meadowbank Stadium don't they? Where the Commonwealth Pool is. Seen The Blue Brazil a few times, as AllezTFC went to Uni in Stirling where we adopted Stirling Albion as our team. Saw them a few times in the 80s and really got into it!

Been saying this since we got bombed down to the Northern League but PJ seems to know different!! Down to earth lads playing game they enjoy and making a bit of money on the side to supplement the day job.

I don't know different but neither do you, I just tend to think it's tired cliche peddled by people who watch Non League football and those disillusioned with the pro game. 99% of those players at some point and in some cases still do have ambitions to play as high as they can and 'love' the game no more than a lad playing in League Two. Some aspects of Non League football are horrible as well some right thugs operate at lower levels.

I've really enjoyed watching Scottish footy over the years at Berwick and Queen of the South. Decent clubs, good craic and fantastic scotch pies

The whole Sutton team playing Arsenal the other night had League experience. The pasties might be better in non-league but I'm not convinced that the experience is much different to watching Pools in League Two.

The really big gap, which keeps on growing because of the way TV money is distributed, is between the Prem (and even the Championship) and League Two.

I love watching non-league football. Watched Stourbridge at home to Ramsbottom United the other New Year when we were in Birmingham with the intention of watching Pools at Newport but it was called off. Really enjoyed it.

Also went to watch Grantham Town against Ashton United this year when my daughter was dancing in Grantham, again, decent watch. Ok the quality obviously isn't great but it's decent enough. The bloke on the gate saw my Pools hat and thanked us for coming. Heard a young lad ask his dad why all the Pools fans were there, there was only me and the lad :)

When I lived in Selby a good few years ago me and the lad had season tickets. 25 quid for the pair for the season. Before we got the season tickets, we went to a game as a one off to see what it was like and the bloke on the turnstile let my lad in for nowt.....and it's teams like that that need the money....can't see Barcelona letting people in for nowt any time soon.

And because Pools aren't involved it's a nice relaxing afternoon of football :)

I reckon the best quote about Ranieri's sacking is this one from Roma's coach Luciano Spalletti:

"It's inexplicable, there is no recognition. He was the one who created this chemistry in the team and the locker room that made it possible to win the championship.
When you win a title ahead of Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea, if you have a little dignity, you even accept to be relegated without touching anything."

Spot on.

The first match I took the eldest bairn too to see if he could last 90 minutes was Hucknall Town v Rainworth. They let him in for nowt. He was only 3 at the time, but it was still a nice gesture.

As long as they don't take up a seat just about every club (if not all) let in under 5's in for free, Pools do.
