just rebooted the whole of my computer as it was about as quick as a shite sliding down a wall.

its working fine now but the font on some websites (like my hotmail account) is unbelievably small. Also web pages don't fit on the screen now so I'm forever having to scroll to the right to read messages on here and stuff.

I'm guessing it can be fixed easily, any ideas?

Oh, also if I want to write @ I have to SHIFT + 2 instead of SHIFT + '. How do I change it back?

Ta!

For the font size try clicking on view, then text size and select the option you want from there

You might also have an American keyboard setting, I am sure someone will know how to change it to a UK setting

You could try pressing F11 to make the page fit on the screen that might work

It's not the text size as it's fine on here but other sites it's unreadable

F11 doesn't work either banghead banghead

Cheers Fensy

Try going into

Control Panel => Regional and Language Options => Laguages => Details
and make sure you have English (United Kingdom) Keyboard selected,
if not add it and select it, removing the US one.

Could be the resolution has been altered.
Right click on the desktop, then properties, settings.

I would guess it should be 1024X768
if not use the slider to sellect what suits.

My computer died and I had to do a system recovery and reload loads of stuff.

I've reinstalled my McAfee but it claims to be conflicting with a non-existant Norton programme and when I try to open McAfee it tries and fails to open with no error message and no little red and white M in the bottom right hand corner of my screen.

What is wrong and how do I fix it without having to write and ask Jim?

Are you sure that you don't have any Norton products running?

Assuming you're running XP; Start/run then type msconfig.

This will bring up a little box which willl show you all the programs and services that are loaded on startup. Have a good look in the different tabs to check.

Then let me know what you find.

Norton (assuming you are talking about Norton ant-virus here?) is notoriously difficult to uninstall. So much so that I believe Symantec actually supply a cleanup tool. I think it's called RNAV or RNAV200x. You should find it on the Symantec website

cheers will check it out, like i said nothing shown in add/remove programs

I'll give these tips a go tonight and let you's know how I get on (presuming Mutley isn't tempting fate and my pc won't die again!).

Cheers.
