Since Hignett left. 14 days till the transfer window closes.

It looks increasingly like we'll get to see how Caretaker Sam selects and sets up the team on Saturday; wonder if the new manager will be sat in the stands like Yogi was when Pools got tonked by Coventry?

On Sky Sports News last night, a new Manager should be appointed by the weekend.

To be fair the sacking was made public at about one O'Clock on Sunday so it's just over two days.

Fair point. I got past 5 p.m. and thought it was Wednesday! Wishing the week away.

The odds on it being Dave Jones must be lengthening though. The crack was that he was all set to step up as soon as Higgy was given the push. Not how it's panning out.

It can't be worse than the new manager process under Uncle Ken, that took months. Loooooooooong drawn out selection process, three written exams, review of interviews, another review of interviews then eventually white smoke emerges from the Vic and appointment of someone we've never heard of is announced .
Usually the interview process was longer than their time as manager.

Most clubs, probably nearly all others, have someone lined up prior to getting the current manager to leave by mutual consent.

Very strange how this is done at Pools.

Infact in most businesses, when the top man goes, you find his replacement was already lined up.

Unless of course its all just another smokescreen, and eventually Collins gets it because "the other candidtaes didnt impress enough".

Meaning Collins was always intended to get it.

Lets ee eh?

The proof of the pudding will be evident soon, this is one move that can't be avoided.

First rule of a struggling business - reduce payroll costs. Collins is already an employee, I'll be surprised if they don't put him in temporarily and save a wage.

And appoint his assistant who will already be on the payroll.
Rob Jones whose duties will be to do the groundsmans job as well.

Don't be daft, first rule of struggling businesses is you don't talk about struggling businesses.

Or at least you only give vague answers on twitter about struggling businesses.

There might be a couple of things on Saturday that please everyone; I think there are two or three things that could be happening that we’re really excited about.”

Id expect him to go 2 up top thats for sure. wHENEVER HE HAS BEEN IN CHARGE IN THE PAST IV ALWAYS ENJOYED HIS STARTING LINE UPS (not retyping that) to be honest. Be interesting to see.

By the way didnt he have Honour helping him out last time?
