Is it genuinely better than the last 5 years worth of efforts? Because I'm tempted but haven't enjoyed one since 2010

I think so B. It progresses every year with extra features and tweaks. It's a bit like FIFA. They manage to improve it n you think how have they managed that.

Downloading 01/02 as we speak. Bit about downloading a virtual hard drive or some shit sounds a bit complex like

http://wincdemu.sysprogs.org/

Download that, when you download the file drag it onto the wincdemu icon and it will add the disc as a cd drive in your file explorer.

Just imagine that program as a CD disc tray and the file you download as the actual disc and you'll be alright.

Started as Pools tonight, just about to have my first game of league two. Signed that Harley Black but within my first 2 weeks of training Matty Bates, Rob Jones, Carl Magnay, Nathan Thomas and Liam Donnelly all picked up long term injuries.

Stayed up til 1am playing last night, forgot how addicting it was when you get going. P5 W4 D1 so far (that includes stuffing Leeds 4-1 away in the cup). Allessandra has banged in 4 so far, enjoying it.

I played 4-4-1-1 for 2 seasons and got to the Championship. Amond & Allessandra are lethal

Sell barron, tony williams, sharp, hendo, lormor, humphreys and go on a spending spree. Can easily get close to 2 million for them all

I released Humphreys on a free the second I started the game.

I think this is the best addition to the series. Really enjoying it.

I always start at Conference North level so never managed Pools *from the beginning* (although might be able to in a couple of seasons), but this time I started unemployed and got the gig at Elgin in Scots L2.

Saved them from relegation season 1, then two consecutive league championship wins and we're mixing it with the big boys (well erm Falkirk and St.Johnstone) in the Scots Championship now. Only part time side in the division and a definite step up in quality of players but I think we'll compete and confound our 500-1 odds.

I make my own tactics and last season went with a 532, conceding 0.5 goals per game through the season but only scored scored 42 from 36. Lots of 1-0s. In fact, struggling to get much free flowing football and make about 8 chances a game which isn't enough. Experimenting with an advanced playmaker behind a poacher and a deep flying forward and seems to be more exciting to watch in the friendlies but we're quite easily countered with pace in behind. Getting there though, probably need to change around a couple of the midfield duties. Still if anyone needs a very defensively solid tactic, in fact I've got several, then I'll post up the duties/positions on here.

Jokes...

I'm enjoying this game so far, I quite like the social media feed and adding promises as incentives to sign players.

Can you provide possession stats for the 66th - 75th minutes of your previous 6 League games please?

I've made 3 tactics this year andy as I've realised more than ever the need to be flexible

Check out Ian macintosh on the set pieces website he's been doing some great stuff this year on fm17

Make sure your players are as dark green on the position circle as you can in the role you give them

Amond is a fantastic defensive forward. He'll do well in that role

Just had a thought, while im waiting for my copy to arrive, is there a demo this year and if you start it can you then load it on the full game?

(I may be imagining that was the case in a previous one?)

Yeah that's where I've got him playing with Allessandra as an inside forward. I tried to hire a data analyst but the Coxall blocked it.

Tried that in previous ones but I always end up getting sacked. It's only worked once when I took Pools to the premiership on FM 09.

serious question for you sad c unts.

When you become Pools manager, have you encountered a situation in the game, where some social media detectives are being utter bastards, and deliberately destroying the confidence of the players, by investigating the club, and then having a fans forum blaming the detectives for finding out the truth?

Or is that too unrealistic?

That's a bit too unrealistic, one feature that has popped up though is that I get hundreds of virtual fans come up to me and try sell me 200 1/2 pint glasses.
