Just a quick couple of stats here.. the last season we won more home games than we lost was 2010/11 and that was 9 wins to 8 losses, also in the last five(and a bit) seasons we have won 41 home league matches and lost a staggering 57.
Pretty grim stuff, and those stats would be a lot worse if you included all other competitions. Can't see that improving anytime soon. Well done to the core base of our fan's for staying with us clappp
How about changing the club motto to 'The Masochists'?

The atmosphere at home is quite frankly pathetic. It has been all season as we haven't had much to shout about. The biggest cheer from yesterday was when Hawkins finally made a tackle.

If we keep playing like the away team at home and allow others to have the ball without putting any pressure on them at all, it'll be like that all season. Why let Grimsby sit and have the ball? How many times did we make misplaced passes because they were in our faces all match. Can't say the same for us.

With all due respect 'sit and let Grimsby have the ball' Were you watching the game yesterday?

We absolutely dominated possession and they couldn't have played more like the away team especially second half when they rarely crossed the half way line. Yes our build up was too slow and obvious but we had all of the play and ball.

Form is trivial and will sort itself out once the club is raking in millions from selling homes.

Fortress Vic. ...Bill Bailey once told a joke about what was the weak point of all castles that allowed easy access ..... The visitor centre! Well it appears Fortress Vic has a very welcoming and appropriately named 'visitor' centre.
As regards 'dominating' the opposition, well, domination without results is pointless unless the domination is exploited.
We need points not plaudits.

Exactly. Good teams find a way to win when they are playing poorly i.e Grimsby yesterday.

Back when we were half-decent we plucked results from nothing - especially away from home. It's gone past expecting us to do anything now, we're just shit at football unfortunately. There's a level of acceptance as well which is probably more depressing than the sight of the League 2 table this morning. Trundling along, making up the numbers until the relegation we probably deserve for the years of fucking about at the bottom of this turgid division.

It's like the fans judging Bogle on one game yesterday. He was poor, but his record speaks for itself and how much could we do with his 18 goals ey?

Another thing, how the f*** are Barnet 7th?

Gotta be one of the worst teams I had the misfortune of watching us lose to this season...

League 2 is pitiful. From 4th downwards there's very little quality. Makes you wonder what we could possibly do if we had a manager here who wasn't being allowed to accumulate one of the worst records in club football.

Unfortunately I haven't missed a home game in 5 seasons. Every time they had the ball we sat back and let them have it, no pressure or intensity to try and win it back. If we want the Vic to be a 'fortress' we need fans on side and how they do that is by showing a bit of intensity. We even pass the ball so bloody slow it's just so predictable.

Have to agree about the atmosphere, I'm sick of hearing away fan's sing "Your support is f..in sh.t" recently, and it is, as the team hardly ever get any momentum going. We generally get up a head of steam then give the ball away with a godawful pass which gift's the oppo' possession and the initiative. We constantly contribute to our own downfall.

It was deadly silent at 3-0 up against Morecambe aside from the odd nonsense shout from the terrace nutters.

Grimsby were a typical hard big hard working team. Go away keep a clean sheet and if you score great. Do not forget we were at home and no matter what the opposition you expect to have the majority of the play.
Whilst I am not a Hignett fan you can have the best manager in the league but if you do not pay decent wages you will never get a decent team.
A few years back with Tinkler,Barker,Nelson, Watson and co I understand we were paying in the region of £2000 a week now we hear of £800 a week it's the old saying you get what you pay for.

Get rid of the 10/11 players who dont get any gametime and replace them with 4/5 decent players for more or less the same wages.
Higgys management skills are both shite on and off the pitch.

Hes had a half decent budget to be fair but blew it big style on quantity instead of quality.
Cant see him getting the same budget next season with the clubs money problems and the inevitable big drop off in Season Ticket sales. ( presuming he is still here like ).

The 975 away fans yesterday will have ploughed in somewhere in the region of 20k for our club, similar full away ends against Carlisle, Portsmouth and Donny later in the season will be welcome too.

Aye, the atmosphere at the Vic could do with a shake up. Last visit for me, more noise was made by 'fans' slating our own players. It was embarrassing. Makes you wonder why they look nervous and worried.

Awww bless em, £50k a year plus bonuses to get shouted at and play a game for a living.

If they tried putting a bit of effort in instead of going through the motions then perhaps the crowd reaction would be a bit more positive towards them.

If you earn an executive wage then expect criticism, they should try earning that kind of money in the real world.

We have had players who had minimal ability in the past, but gave 100% and were treat like heroes at pools. If the fans see the players giving everything, 9 times out of 10 the fans get behind them.

I don't see a lack of effort to be fair a lack of confidence and self belief maybe in the final third but they looked like they were trying. We completely controlled the game if you got points for completed passes we'd laughing but it's not the way to succeed at this level as we know, you can play football and do well in League Two but you need strength through the spine of your team. Our midfield barely has a tackle in it never mind a leader. With a couple of good signings this system could work. Four players for me are needed, a loan keeper a commanding centre back so Donnelly can switch to right back a commanding centre mid and a mobile target man for Amond to play off. The problem is building the team around 3-5-2 is that our best player who will be back in a few weeks is an out and out winger.

While I agree that pretty football doesn't generally do well at this level, there are examples of when it has in the past. Doncaster and Bournemouth always played nice footy at this level. Well I include Bournemouth, they did admittedly have Fletcher up front but they still knocked it around on the desk as well.

We played good football at this level but the team was full of leaders and strong characters in the dressing room. Barron, Humphreys, Nelson, Watson, Westwood, Darrell Clarke the list goes on. This team looks way too nice I don't see anyone ever give out a bollocking or gee a teammate up.

Thought we were generally ok on Saturday ( certainly no worse than the opposition ) until it got to the final third, when it was pass, pass, pass, pass, pass (again ! ).
Against Cambridge at least two of their goals were as a direct result of deflections from our players either wrong footing Carson or ending up at the feet of an opposition player who promptly dispatched it into the net.
You can feel ( and hear ) the frustration in the crowd as the ball goes sideways once more. Admittedly some of our shooting ends up over the Rink End/Town End roof but if you don't shoot you ain't gonna score !!
