in the mail from (I believe) Chip Fireball.

Not neccesarily the stuff about the Open top bus parade as I think we all agree on that but the end few paragraphs about how Pools unites the town.

If the fooking councillors actually read that then it might make the penny drop and understand the ground sell is very important to the whole town.

I've disagreed quite strongly with him on here the last couple of weeks but the letter was faultless

That's a bit of a sweeping statement, TPP!

To be honest I must have been half asleep when I wrote that as I didn't mean it at all!

Any chance someone can scan the letter in our maybe Chip can do a copy and paste from the word document he printed it out in!

For those fortunate enough not to get the Hartlepool Mail!

Sounds like this letter is a good read

Did you HAVE to include the picture?

Does Councillor M (for(Un)mentionable) ever take that body warmer off?
Or is it a flak jacket? He gets plenty.

That is an excellent article. Ironically the letters page in the Mail is the only page containing anything worth reading.

I like two things especially in that letter.

The one about exiles is right on the nail - I'm obviously in complete harmony with that.
And the other one is "I've never spoken to the mayor". rolfl rolfl rolfl rolfl

I only wish Lorraine Johnstone was still alive.....

One of her letters went, to do with unruly yoof, something along the lines of.....

My mother used to beat me with a stick, God I loved my mother, send em all back, aren't these new five pence pieces fiddly, black as night he was, but had nice fingernails, or was that Mrs Brady from the Viz??

Excellent letter and follows on from one I had published in the Mail when this clown first made his comments. At the end of the day 3000 (from the Mayors own fund) was a small amount to pay for the enjoyment given to so many in celebrating pools achievements last season.

NOW were talking!!

I remember Lorraine Johnson, Colenso Street...

Her lettters to the Mail were the stuff of legend, one i remember word for word, it read simply:

Regarding the golf balls at Flyingdales, keep them , they are a reminder of the second world war.

Lorraine Johnson
Colenso Street

clappp clappp clappp

they should re-print those letters, absolute quality entertainment - and the Mail knew it. If they kept printing them, she would keep writing them. Funny as f-u-ck!!! clappp

Somebody should put Lorraine Johnsons together in a book - they were brilliant. Now, she would have made a good councillor!
