Pools have exhausted nearly every option, Hignett has exhausted every post match excuse and Tree has exhausted pretty much every takeaway in town.

Time for a change.

Folk are supersticious, no-one more so than football supporters. Talking to a Leicester City supporting mate they credit last season's success on one thing...Rachel Riley.

Every match day, before the game(NEVER the day before) a thread was posted on their foxestalk forum with new pictures of Rachel Riley. More often than not, when a post was created they won and when it wasn't they didn't win.

Click here to see how much they credit her with their success.

Now I'm not suggesting we steal Rachel Riley from them but we could find our own lucky mascot starting this Saturday. Anyone in?

Is there any fit female forms from Hartlepool who are famous?

This weekend reminds me of that time we were utter garbage and travelled to Sheff United. Everyone expected a heavy defeat and I lumped my biggest ever bet on them to win. Up popped Steve Howard to win us the game

Pompey at 1/2 is bigger than I expected and tempted for another big lump on.

Bet her dad would love that! Only other famous female I can think of from the town is Wayne Sleep.

That said, Rachel Riley is an Essex girl so there's no need for any link to the town.

Surely the best way to find out if we've selected the right mascot is if they get us an unlikely win.

Exactly Bishop - why does it have to be female - plenty supporters would like to see a male mascot pic!

But the Colonel's tastes aren't necessarily the same as the masses.

2 things...it's not a match day and I doubt there are many pictures of her, if she's still alive we could get her to do some glamour shots I suppose.

From IMBd:

Gwenllian Gill was born on December 11, 1915 in Hartlepool, Durham, England. She was an actress, known for Murder Tomorrow (1938), Flame in the Heather (1935) and False Evidence (1937). She was married to Donovan Pedelty. She died on January 24, 2004 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, USA.

Plenty of pictures on Google!!!

I don't think Gwenillian will, no matter how pissed you are.
