The worst is easy...The Pogues.

The best is "Do You Hear What I Hear"" by American band Spiraling.

I love the pogues song. More because of the wonderful Kirsty McCall.

But I hate all poncey christmas songs.

In the deep mid winter is a carol but I remember it since I was a choir boy and love it still.

Worst has to be Dennis Waterman And George Cole: What Are We Going To Get For 'Er Indoors?

Roy wood. Noddy holder.

Havent they joined that supergroup yet?

Yewtree?

I wouldnt trust any band that was around at that time. Especially the ones that the were surrounded by kids on top of the tops.

Oi! Roy Wood is an utter Legend. Great songwriter and was knocking Ayshea Brough off in the 70s...MAJESTIC woman.

It's Cliched To Be Cynical At Christmas by Half Man Half Biscuit is my fave.

As for the more well known ones, I can tolerate Christmas Wrapping by the Waitresses, I Was Born on Christmas Day by St Etienne, and Can't Stop The Cavalry by Jonah Louis.

The Pogues one gets on my tit ends. I've got no time for Kirsty McColl. Our lass plays her a lot when she's due on or is pissed off about something . If you listen to her lyrics she basically hates men, because she keeps falling for arseholes and believing their bullshit. No sympathy.

Its not Xmas until Bing Crosby-White Christmas is played. FACT

I love nearly all Xmas songs except the Frog Chorus, which isn't Chrismassy but did come out at Xmas, I recall.

Never heard this one from Dropkick Murphys. It's better than most efforts that are much overplayed.

The only Christmas song you need is "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas". Either by Judy Garland or Frank Sinatra. Who doesn't want to "keep the yuletide gay" darlings?

Any of the band aid ones are the worst.

Futureheads - Christmas was better in the 80's is the best, filmed down steetley beach as well.

'Christmas by the side of the road' by Huey Morgan and the New Yorkers is an overlooked gem.

If I didn't know better I would have swore that was Mike Scott on vocals. Interesting band though.

We Wish You A Merry Christmas by The Greedy Bastards. (AKA The Greedy's for the benefit of Radio 1's tender listeners).
