I'm absolutely gutted i'm not there. Regardless of the weather. I've been there 6 times now and totally enjoyed every minute of it.

I have never experienced an atmosphere like the one at Glastonbury and have never been to a musical event to even come close!

Gutted rage rage rage

One question about Glastonbury, Why do loads of people take flags? What is the point surely you go to watch the music not wave a stupid flag about.

The first time i went was 1997 and the last time was 2004. I've been 6 times and it gets more corporate by the year. That still doesn't detract from the enjoyment of it all though.

I would urge anyone to go at least once, if they are a music fan or not.

I remember in 2002 on the Saturday night. The choice of headline acts on the main stages were The Stereophonics (shyte) and Orbital (great, but i'd seen them many times before), so me and my mate Greg just went for a wander. Took on Manu Chao on the Jazz World stage for a while and then headed up to the stone circle which was practically empty.

You can almost see the entire festival from up there and it was amazing to see it all in action from that distance.

I'm there next year, even if it means working at the festival!

I'm just surprised you've never been with you being into music and festivals etc.

The weather is a pain but it's great when it's dry.

I would recommend it to anyone!

my point [not very well put, granted] was that they should do the red button thing all day long, as they do with tennis and snooker and stuff...

That's no age. I kid you not, I had a woman in her 70's or 80's going into the portaloo after i'd been in! Brave is not the word!

Our kid is 37 this year and i'm trying to convince him to go next year. Reckon he will an all.

There's a massive selection of music too. Iggy and the Stooges are headlining one of the stages tonight.

at least with reading you can walk back into town each night and either stay in a hotel or get the train home if you live in london.

theres something very wrong about sleeping in tents and using portable toilets if you have to.

i'd honestly rather sleep in a tent than stay in reading, ignorance is in abundance with the people of reading.

worked there about 8 yrs ago the most miserable pack of tw@ts ive ever met, if they heard your northern accent they'd serve someone behind you in the queue 1st.

only people that would talk to us were students or other people working away from home.

Agree that the Editors were good - reminded me of a scruffy Interpol (who I also like).

Get Cape Wear Cape Fly are fab
CSS are an entertaining bunch
Rodrigo y some spanish chick are utterly superb - those rythms were amazing
Paul Weller is the dullest man since fab Macca

I thought the Manics and Paul Weller were both pretty good, but John Fogerty was excellent, apart from Rocking all over the World!

Been to Reading three times and Glasto twice - all between 1989 and 1991.
Musically Reading was the best
Experience wise, Glasto was the best
Simple as that
Off to Leeds this year for my first festival in seven years :sweeeet:
The camping bit is great
