Hard to believe but it's 9 years today since his tragic death. His goal against Huddersfield still one of the best I've ever seen.

Stu Harland, his daughter, my wife, myself and our daughter arrived at the Liberty stadium in Swansea only to be informed, by a bunch of Swansea supporters, that one of our players had died. I'll never forget those supporters because of the sympathy and respect they showed towards us. Stu and I attended the re-arranged match and their supporters showed the same attitude by applauding the Poolies who had turned up.
Michael's goal was a cracker against Hudds.
R I P Michael.

Nice pic and tribute on the OS. RIP Michael.

It's gratifying how many of the small things the club gets right these days. Up the Pools.

I’m sure their heart is in the right place but I was surprised when I walked past Michael’s bench up at maiden castle too see the plaque removed from it.

Turns out a few fans appeared last week n removed the plaque with the idea of putting it on a new bench.

Are the club supporting this?

Has Michael’s family been consulted ?

Have the players who clubbed together to buy the bench been asked?

The bench does look a bit rough but nothing a bit of TLC won’t fix.

Always think you should ask before going ahead and doing stuff like this.
