It was depressing he got the job in the first place so it's even more so now he's already coming out with nonsense like this.

He's got a two year contract earning millions he's clearly not going to rock the boat and risk upsetting senior players. He'll get his two years then get sacked after another awful World Cup with his bank balance being the only thing to gain anything by the whole experience. We need to not qualify to probably bring about the systematic change required but unfortunately this group is so weak even a manager as average as him couldn't fook it up.

The media are having a right love in.

In his younger days Rooney was a good player more so when he was playing alongside Ronaldo, the 2 of them had pace. Rooney has lost that now and I think he will also be fighting to keep the flab off.

Rooney is still a good footballer. But he is not that good to have the place in the england team he appears to have got. Nor is he that good that appears irreplacable.

There is a very good case for him no tbeing in the squad at all. He has had way too many chances, at the highest level, and failed every time bar one.
