We should have shown some ambition before the season started and bought him. Whatever money we have spend on wages for Deverdics and Nsiala should have been put toward Jackson, assuming of course, he would have signed for us.

He has signed for a Championship club, possibly just possibly the lad set his ambitions higher than playing in League Two? This isn't Football Manager. I'm sure after last season one of our top targets was Adam Jackson.

Also the two you mentioned could into very good players for us, it's not even the end of August and Deverdics especially has has limited opportunities so far.

I hear you, if that was the case then it would have been nice to have been told that we at least tried but he turned us down. Did we actually try for anything other than a loan or could we simply not afford it?

It's seems that some have made their minds up about Nsiala already despite fact he was MOTM in the Notts County game....strange. Wonder if it's the same crowd who thought Chris Westwood was shit

It's not always something you hear about though is it Mr Pools (players we've approached but not signed)?

We might have tried to break the bank to get him for all we're ever going to know.

Definitely has a mistake in him.

A Grimsby fan I know confirmed the same and we've seen it ourselves on a few occasions.

HOWEVER, I think he's a really decent player. Certainly good enough League Two. I was nervous whenever he got the ball after his first game but I'm less panicky now.

I haven't actually said that I've made my mind up about him but surely anybody would pick Jackson all day long, without hesitation?

Sure, probably I've made my point on the wrong post really. My reaction is more based on a sort of general accumulation of posts on here, other boards and the brain dead Facebook group as opposed to what you wrote above.

Some people seem to have blamed him for every goal we've conceded so far this season even ones where blatantly Magnay has turned his back for example etc. Anyways even if in wrong place I've got it off my chest!!!

Let's face it, a Championship club will pay mega-wages compared to us, would you turn down three or four times the rate plus playing the likes of Newcastle etc. Jackson would have had a lot more ambition given the opportunity, he is obviously way above League 2 quality.

Barnsley central defender Alfie Mawson is set to undergo a medical at Swansea City on Tuesday, according to Sky sources.

The 22-year-old is close to completing a transfer from Oakwell to the Liberty Stadium with personal terms almost agreed. The fee is understood to be worth up to £5m.

Mawson was withdrawn from Barnsley's squad to face Rotherham on Saturday with the move imminent, although the Tykes did not appear to miss him as they won the South Yorkshire Championship derby 4-0

Shame on Coxall not trying to outbid a club who just sold a player for £5m, clearly zero ambition.

Is he getting his teeth into things at his new club? As you say after how Stones went I'm sure he'll be all white.

Being a young lad he no doubt lacks the wisdom but I'm sure he'll help them grind out the odd result here and there

Apparently Holgate gets changed to Colgate by my phone, I know I'll get some chew for it but I'll just have to brush it off.

Let's milk this one for all its worth. Jackson will be wearing Barnsley's crest and there's bugger all Pools can do about it
Good luck to the lad.
