So iv just had a car delivered and I wont be driving it for a week or so.

Do I simply declare it SORN till the day comes when i want to tax/drive it? Or should I just tax it now to save the bother or would I end up paying for August aswell?

As far as the DVLA go, they only recognize one of two states, either taxed or SORN, very easy to declare SORN if you want to avoid taxing when it is late in the previous month.

I'm assuming it's parked in your garage or on your drive if you're going to SORN it? I wouldn't put it past the sneaky fuckers to check.

This is not a personal dig but it can't just be me that finds it irritating when people start a sentence with so. Another thing that has been adopted from those language murderers in the US.

Providing it's physically off the public highway it doesn't need taxing.

Even if it's on your drive it needs to be either insured or SORN.
