Tonight they are playing the most local of local derbies against Burnley, 8 miles away. Surely a sell out you'd think?

3,170 with 1,824 Burnley fans is the crowd. No more than the 1300 they mustered on Saturday. Just how do they survive and compete in the Football League?

The fact that they do - and on significantly lower crowds than Pools - and have actually beaten Burnley tonight says it all. Coxall and Hignett can certainly talk the talk about taking the club forward but are absolutely nowhere near walking it - if you discount the nice new changing rooms and state of the art turnstiles that is. Holy baloney.

Not really a stick to beat Hignett with really or Coxhall with really that's just rarfish like most of your posts on here they are both new in the jobs they have at the club and deserve a chance. Accrington do have a manager who does a very good job though, knows the pool of players available in the local area, uses the loan market well and always seems to get the best out of the players they have available.

I asked a Burton Albion fan how they would manage promotion on their crowds and he replied "that behind you will see us ok"..He told me they raked in 1.8 million a year on the corporate facilities. Mind you they are a class place to hold an event.

Someone raises a perfectly innocent point and yet again you use it tediously to have a pop at the club :sleeping-yellow: :sleeping-yellow: :sleeping-yellow:

Saw the chairman interviewed on sky sports from Accy, he seemed a good sort, payed for all the drinks last night and gave the manager 100k for additional player funds on the back of last night and West ham next.

Totally agree with Sir Snowy clappp clappp clappp

Good luck to everyone involved with Accrington - and Burton - still have great memories of their welcoming the mighty Pool when they were non-league - in front of the cameras - and we went on to Blunderland - so. let's respect these clubs and fans and give similar respect, where due, to our own.............

For every Accrington and Burton there are dozens of similar sized clubs achieving nowt. I like to see small teams punch above their weight, but it's something that is generally unsustainable.

Nothing whatsoever against Accrington, but on those gates they are surely being bankrolled by a willing chairman. Good luck to them, but could some people realise that on those gates you need an alternative source of income.

the chairman wrote off their losses last season and spent a bit on ground improvements but not at the away end a,ll find after christmas. he,s a decent bloke who you could have a pint with and not a flash gobby standoffish type. its the first time he,s given extra money for the playing side of things though. john coleman is a manager that fits the club and does seem to have a good scouting network around liverpool and seems able to bring in players that suit his ideas of team spirit and attempting to play good football. lost in the play offs due to that however as they always struggle against the big ale house sides.

I get that PIN but how many teams are consistent year on year, fair play to Accy and to burton. Live for today, I so wish we could have a season playing Newcastle, villa, Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield Utd, Brighton, Derby, Qpr, wolves, Norwich, Blackburn, Birmingham, forest, Fulham......

Loads of teams of our size have had a spell in the second tier - Walsall, Crewe, Colchester, Yeovil, Stockport, Rotherham etc. They almost invariably drop down to the level their crowds can pay for.

Loads of teams that come up from the Conference get into the third tier fairly quickly, but a lot of them go backover again within a year or two.

Hopefully we'll get established back in the third tier again and have another crack at getting out of it.

Spot on pin. We had some good years under ior but still didn't win anything and have ended up back where we started. It was enjoyable but I so wish we won the league that year under newell. I so want that monkey off our back.

Too right. To the think the team that beat us to it doesn't even exist any more vexes me further.

Any need?

I know you love an argument but posts like this are just embarrassing.

You'll never get to that point, sorry to disappoint you.
