Nationalisation wont any difference. I remember back in the days of British Rail, having to stand all the way to London in a shit tip of a train. If it was ever nationalised again you can bet any profits made would be used to fund other schemes that have nothing to do with the railways.

Daft of Corbyn to pick that particular journey to make his point about the state of the railways. If he'd picked a rush hour journey to Brighton or any any major destination on Southern's network he'd have had tens of thousands of pissed off commuters shouting 'hallejujah' and a train company trotting out the same old lame excuses.

But it was the issue of the day in his re-election campaign and he happened to be on his way up to Newcastle, so -

Terrific own goal Jeremy, you made that Welsh twit's day.

It depends which train he was on. If the first stop was York or Doncaster then the seating situation wouldn't have changed until then but if the first stop was Peterborough then people getting off at Peterborough make seats available around 40 minutes after leaving kings cross which could tie-in with his claim that he only found a seat after that time (around 11.10). Having travelled from Peterbrough to darlo every week for nearly 4 years I can vouch that unless you book weeks in advance you are unlikely to get a seat and either stand all the way or sit in the vestibule, certainly if this was a Friday or school holidays, seen it many times. Plus many inconsiderate people place things on the seat next to them so you need to ask if they are taken or reserved. I'm Open minded on this. But Before Virgin took over, East Coast a nationalised company, were operating at a profit, £1b over 6 years to the government coffers

Jeremy corbyn has more chance of becoming prime minister than this darlington team have of getting back in t the football league.

Unless of course you believe pools will drop to meet them?

Will Corbyn bring back football specials? A new League Liner or even just the old one with a paint job? We need answers.
