Why do we let him dictate play and run the game every single time we play against him. It was so obvious he was going to score today yet nobody got near him and he really should of had a hattick! We make players like him look world beaters!

Or maybe
he makes our players look exactly what they are

you either play to your strengths or the other teams.
football is a simple game
complicated by egotistic coaches.

creativity 2 pace 2
and NO bite

Spot on Greyhoundend the 'new look' Pools squad was badly exposed yesterday - no creativity, no leaders, no pace (apart from Thomas who ran into dead ends and made poor decisions as usual) and precious little bottle for the fight with one or two exceptions i.e. Paynter, Woods & Toto). Too many players were going through the motions (Amond, Carroll, Richards, Featherstone). The only players to come out with any real credit were Allessandra and Carson - Magnay did OK prior to yet another injury. Worst of all though was Hignett in his post-match interview refusing to hold his hands up, blaming everyone but himself - sorry but this was nowhere near good enough.

I didn't think Amond went through the motions at all, he worked hard and had a decent game for me.

I'm not sure any of them went through the motions. One or two were found wanting yes but it wasn't for a lack of trying.

Well, if that was Armond 'working hard' then he needs to up his ante big style and grow a pair if he is going to make it in the big boys league, some nice touches yes but like the rest of the strikers he was ineffective throughout and his part in the winning goal was shocking - he was weakly knocked off the ball and made no attempt whatsoever to track back and recover it as the midfield and defenders went AWOL. Not sure what game you were watching but with only one or two exceptions there was no sign of a 'never say die' attitude once Notts had taken the game by the scruff of the neck. Too much tippy-tappy football for my liking with no-one prepared to shoot (no change there) and nobody except Paynter prepared to go in and maybe get hurt when as the few chances that were created went begging.

His part in the winning goal 'shocking' Jesus Christ.

He had a really poor ball clipped up to him which he little or no chance of winning or doing anything with, the centre back attacked it and came away with the ball and then was allowed to waltz up the pitch like Alan Hansen or Bobby Moore without the threat of a challenge, I'd say Amond was the least culpable as at least he had a excuse for not trying to get near him as he'd been involved in the initial phase of play and had tried to back in and hold up a ball that was 90:10 in the defenders favour. Just where was our midfield? That was shocking, I thought Amond played well enough and looks a promising to me. Same old issue as we've had for years is why we lost and how we've always struggled when we've played 4-4-2, our central midfielders fall short and we are far too open.

On occasions like this, there's a tendency by some to lash out at those they don't rate.
Truth is, we had a dysfunctional midfield.
