A new World moron record, I heard boos for Toto's next touch.

4 minutes into his debut.

Quite tragic giving a goal away within 4 minutes though, typical Pools!

Toto looked suspect in preseason. He needs the fans behind him not on his back in his debut.

To be fair I thought he put the mistake behind him quite well and he improved as the game went on, he found himself in quite a few one on one situations and he seemed to deal with the vast majority of them quite well. Of course he's going to make mistakes that's why he is a league 2 player

He did some good things and some mistakes. Such an early mistake will have done him no good. Our defense always looks poorer without Bates. He certainly didn't deserve some of the comments he got.

Is Bates not fit?

Bates has been suffering with a bug for the last week I think I read and hasn't trained much.

Toto did OK and doesn't lack for pace. His mistake lead to a chance they should of scored from which went for a corner. The short corner caught the team out one of a few time which the team didn't learn from. The lad May of been nervous and shouldn't be judge so early. He only misplaced one pass upfield which he tried to play into the strikers body and not thumping up the park. We will know in the next half a dozen games what result it was. I think hignett has a decision to make regards front three on today. I would go alessandro, armond and Thomas.

Thought we played well after the first 10 minutes and we're comfortably the better team. 2nd half we seemed to tire and they missed a glorious chance to Nick it. Best player first half was Alessandra, looks decent. We'll improve with games.

Toto also won a couple of headers at set pieces

I thought all of the new lads did well - ok Nsiala made a mistake early on but he regained his composure and did well for the rest of the game. Alessandra is a clever player and gets into good positions, Amond was also impressive has a good touch and work rate, even won quite a few headers although he isn't the biggest. I liked the look of Deverdics when he came on, looked assured and passed the ball very well. Added to this Laurent looks like he is making steady progress, and Thomas is every full backs worst nightmare.

Looks like we have bought wisely, looking like a much better squad than last season. I would confidently predict we will be residing in the top half of the division this season rather than the bottom.

Their right back must've been over the moon to hear the final whistle, at one point near the end he just fell over and gave in letting Thomas run clear.

Lewis Hawkins looks like he's going to be an important player this season. Winning tackles with two opponents while he's sat on the ground !

He missed numerous chances yesterday according to talksport. The one shown on CH5 highlights was a terrible first touch which I can't believe the commentator didn't remark 'he has the touch of a...'

I'm sure he'll do well this season, as for the obvious no further comment is needed since his retrial is in October.

After the first ten minutes we were comfortably the better team. Alessandra looked very decent throughout and Thomas just carried on from last season.

Toto looks to have a few mistakes in him but generally I thought he played well. Just makes me a bit nervous when he has the ball at his feet.

I thought we played very well and really should have won the game. Thomas had a great game and all of the new lads looked well.

And at the point of when we were linked with him his conviction had not been quashed, so whilst still would have been controversial it was still different circumstances.

Thoroughly enjoyed our first competitive game of the season and am reasonably confident of a top 10 finish, the football we played was miles better than we have seen for several seasons
