Well there you go. Good Luck to the guy, but that's not the reason we were given on his departure is it?

Its like when Rafferty left for a career outside football and signed for Dover the next day.

Or that young striker who left us also to pursue a career outside of football and signed for an Irish side. (Name escapes me, think he scored once for us)

He's blatantly just gone there because their photographer does full length photos. Very odd shoes for that suit like.

I was thinking the same, this is an extract from the statement the club gave less than 2 weeks ago:

"It’s been an incredibly tough time for me over the last two years and I feel like it has taken its toll so I am sure now is the right time for me to take a step back."

Also he needs a pair of black shoes to go with that suit.

Coxall on Twatter

"I'm shocked by this! Don't know what to say to be honest mate..."

"real reason was exactly what was stated Smudge. I'm shocked by this appointment if I'm honest"

So has Green filled Coxall with a load of shite so he could jump ship to another job?

Not sure what to read into this, wasn't there rumours of RG jumping ship as he didn't like what was going on 'behind the scenes' or did he jump before he was pushed sctatchinghead

Can I add, no one substantiated the rumours of course, it was the usual 'I can't put it on here' or something along those lines.

Rochdale's last Chief Executive resigned on 11th July. Russ Green dropped his 'Bombshell' (c) Harlepool Fail and resigned from HUFC on 17th.

Rochdale's Chairman has muddied the waters more than a bit by saying on their OS:
“I was aware that Russ was available after having stepped down from his role at Hartlepool, so when Colin informed the Board of Directors of his intention to leave, Russ was, without a doubt, a standout candidate. Russ is someone I have known for some time and I am absolutely delighted that he has agreed to take up the role."

So it's pretty obvious that Russ was tapped up for the job! As for the Dark Green one's reasons for leaving and whether or not there's a suggestion that all might not be well behind the scenes at the Vic, he has this to say on the Dale official site:
“I’ve always admired Rochdale. I think the way the Board of Directors run the club on the resources they have is absolutely fantastic."

Which is true as far as it goes - Rochdale have been doing great for the past few years considering the crowds they get.

Unless of course Green was working his notice at Pools before it was announced he was leaving.

But that would spoil your conspiracy theory.

As his health was mentioned by Gary maybe the noticed was waved?

I couldn't care less about him moving on, wish him the best in fact. Everyone seems to have discounted the possibility that the new head of operations could be a step up. I stand to be corrected but recruitment is Gary's specialist subject.

Judging from the chairman's comments when his resignation was announced, it didn't sound like he'd had any forewarning - much less that Russ was working his notice!
Me putting the stuff from the Rochdale OS on here is information not speculation.

It looks pretty clear that Russ chose to move on and had an idea where he might be going - that's his prerogative. Zillions of people in all walks of life have done the same.
