Harsh. Now is the time to rewrite history, and eulogise about him.

Other places have already done this in spades.

I hear GeoffN is in mourning.

Allegedly he's Gods' representative on earth so it probably covers that as well.

Will we see you rushing down to the club to purchase your season ticket IF Russ has gone or will you be making up another excuse.

I am expecting a large increase in sales from all those who said not going till I OR and Russ goes. OVER TO YOU. therethere

Not sure what to read into this. A few on here made him out to be poison. Yet seemed to be highly regarded in the football world.

Disagreement with the chairman? Cost cutting? Him not happy with how things are being ran?

Unless it was always going to happen?

Maybe there was an agreement when Coxall and co took over that Russ would stay in his position for a while to show the ropes to his replacemant

Maybe some of the people who were making the club tick, but left due to Hodcroft, might come back? We certainly lost some massive experience behind the scenes in the latter days of Kuddly Ken....

Coxall is in recruitment so I'm sure he wanted his own man in all along and Russ stayed on to steady the ship so to speak.

Onwards and upwards

As mentioned already in this thread I think Russ stayed on to steady the ship for a year. We are in a much better position than last year and the future looks promising for our club. Wouldn't surprise me if Sam Collins and Nick Green also follow suit fairly soon as well. With Russ going it might allow Gilbert to bring back either Cooper or Wadsworth into the coaching set up.

Right.

We will see you rushing down to the club to purchase your season ticket?

Is that what you do? Sit outside the club viewing people rushing down the club? You do dont you?

Me and the LARGE numbers waiting for Green to go arent falling for this ruse though. The club wait until they increase the ticket price to obscene levels, and then make the great announcement, in the hope that us LARGE numbers will fall for it and pay the higher amount.

They must think we were born yesterday. This announcement should have been three months ago, and ticket sales would have gone through the roof.

How much is the match day admittance fee? I reckon I will get to about 8 games, so if that comes to less than a season ticket, at the obscene rate, then why would I get one? I cant make midweek games anyway, so that discounts a few probably.

Plus of course, there are the freebies, which would be disrespectful to turn down.

But yes, I will be returning, but only when its all been confirmed, and GeoffN loses the "I love Russ" Tee shirt. Or will he replace it with another that says "the king is dead, long live the king" like he did when his hero Ken left?

Hopefully Russ green has got another job that he has got lined up to go to , if not maybe it is time to get worried , maybe Mr coxall fancies taking total control of the club by doing the job himself , that would be the time to be concerned , just a thought , onwards and upwards , I hope

Over the last 7 years or so the top men haven't been doing their job particularly well. The chairman ken hodcroft, who basically told us they were running the club down and pretty much did, the managers barring a few months here and their haven't dont very well on the scraps they were fed and Russ green, I'm not exactly sure what good he has brought over this period gets held in high regard by others but haven't seen too many benefits for us. If Mr coxall thinks he can do a better job than crack on, at least things are slowly happening with him in place.

It's one of the following....

a) Stupid autocorrect on my phone

b) We are set to announce Ron Gilbert as manager within the next few days, he produced the first 2 Monkey Island games for PC in the 90's.

c) Craig Hignett resembles german singer "Gilbert"

Given this board's fascination with Gilbert O'Sullivan it's probably the actor Christopher Timothy he meant.

Since everyone else is dancing around the subject, I'm going to come right out and say that it would be disquieting if Russ Green's departure had anything to do with the recent threatened winding up order over an unpaid bill.

To be clear on that, if the alleged 'administrative oversight' was down to Russ himself then tough shit and off you go mate. If, on the other hand, Russ has resigned because HE is unhappy about the circumstances that led to late payment, then that really is a worry.

The club statement just put out by Mr. Coxall is reassuring, but I'm waiting with great interest for the reaction of lifelong Poolie, club president and friend of Mr. Green, Jeff Stelling.

Timing just seems a bit strange, why leave it til 3 weeks before the season start to pack in? If this was in the pipeline he would've gone pretty much as soon as the season ended.
