Like been said earlier dosent matter who the manager is when the players arent bothered.
And ye them foreign defenders for Man City make Joe Hart look half decent
He wouldent look out of place playing in our Sunday morning league.
No disrespect to the Hartlepool keepers btw!

We always seem to have an arrogance about us when it comes to international football, when realistically the best we have done is won a tournament 50 years ago and reached a semi final in 1996. The full FA set up needs a shake up, too many suits who know fuck all about the game, Martin Glenn the CEO of the FA who's job it is to appoint a new manager, comes from a background of biscuits and fish fingers.

and then there is St George's Park, which apparently we didn't use, because it's too far from the players home, diddums.

Any fool knows that on the football map of England there's a massive dot representing London, an oversize one for Manchester and a a couple of question marks for the rest of the country.

Fook me, it's bad enough driving for a couple of hours to the likes of Leicester for a match; only a madman would suggest a training camp out in the sticks. I mean, having to sleep there and all that.

It might be acromegaly, like.

Allardyce and Ronnie Moore went to the same coaching school :angry-tappingfoot:

Give him the job, he's the nearest they'll get to Mike Bassett, a few strategically placed bits of facial hair and he would even bear a passing resemblence. Can't wait to see that back four, Benson, Hedges, Lambert and Butler.

Glenn Hoddle should not even be in the running, he hasn't managed a team in about 1000 years, and now just talks nonsense on the TV.

I want Sean Dyche or Eddie Howe. Two young and hungry managers that have two teams punching well above their weight.

Spot on

Concur.

They have both managed smaller clubs and performed above expectation as opposed to Fat head Sam who's managed some decent sized clubs and tried to convince everybody he's performing above expectation and doing a really tremendous job.

I didn't realise how much I didn't like him until this thread it really is all coming out here. I wish I could get this passionate about important stuff. I think I could have eventually got away with that 'lovely lovely person' Harry Redknapp (another managerial fraud) but not Allardiche. He did actually say that before by the way, that if he was called Allardiche (basically if he was foreign) he'd be managing top clubs, what a massive twat he is.

Would a "young" manager even want it though? The job is a poisoned chalice and Howe & Dyche both are something good with their respective clubs. It's not going to please anyone because it can be flipped both ways, if we appoint a young manager and it fails then it'd be down to inexperience. If we appoint an Allardyce type and it fails then it'd be down to us appointing a dinosaur.

We are limited to who we can appoint and Allardyce isn't that bad of a manager. He seems a hell of a lot more passionate than Hodgson and probably more of a motivator.

Being a bit serious for one of the first times in this thread he is better qualified than some mentioned (Southgate for one) but it's a pretty depressing state of affairs when the FA are looking at someone like Allardyce and saying 'he'll have to do.' Because we don't actually have enough top coaches and managers in this country. People aren't up in arms about this because we've been that horrifically bad in three of our last four tournaments that the attitude is 'can he do any worse' People should be looking beyond that and putting a bit more thought into this surely?

Firstly all the long ball stuff is probably unfair, at times his times have been direct certainly but it's more his overall mindset as a manager and how he gets the best out his teams. Generally he's managed team who in his mind aren't the favourites. He's defensive and his teams have never been renowned for playing decent football. The West Ham fans pretty much universally disliked the bloke and the football they were paying to watch and were very vocal about that. Less than 12 months later people are taking about him being England manager? Look at the bloke who replaced him at West Ham Slaven Bilic, great manager charismatic and really seems to get the best out of top players. We should be searching the globe for somebody like that, not settling for a decent middle table manager who plays rubbish football. It seems a bit lazy and rushed to me.

Big Sam expected to be appointed in next 24 hours.

Sky just shown him walking under a 'hungry monkey' sign at the ground. I'm just waiting for paddy power to use it now...
