I know this is 'so last year' but I finally watched the last Breaking Bad yesterday, just fantastic writing. All 5 seasons were excellent.

With Homeland and now Breaking Bad all done not sure what to watch next, possibly Boardwalk Empire.

Breaking bad is one of those programmes that I have just not ever wanted to watch.

Stll say the first True Detective is the best thing I have ever seen.

Breaking Bad is okay, like Homeland it's light entertainment thats enjoyable as long as you dont take it too seriously and can ignore the at times ludicrous plot.

I have met quite sane and intelligent people though who have stated Breaking Bad is one of the best things ever broadcast, which raises an eyebrow. One bloke who I really like and that I have loads in common with was trying to tell me lasy year that it was a better piece of television than The Wire FFS. Nothing I could say to him would convince him otherwise.

Anyway getting back on topic, what do folk make of the second series of Happy Valley ? Bit all over the place innit ?

I am really enjoying happy valley I think Sarah Lancashire plays a brilliant part and so does her sister in it, it is a bit all over the place as you say but the story lines are brilliant the fella who plays the copper who was having a affair plays a great part

I watched a great shoe on I player the weekend that was shown a few years back called Our world war absolutely brilliant

RE: Making a Murderer.

His current lawyer believes she has found an 'airtight alibi' for Steven using phone records that show the girl leaving the property but Steven not leaving. I may have missed something but unless they have recorded phone calls after that point they can't say for certain it wasn't just the phones that were moved or left at his house. Without dramtic changes in the corrupt legal system it's a wasted effort but good to see he's not been forgotten.

I saw Stag as well. Billed as a comedy thriller it managed to avoid being funny or thrilling. Can't believe it got commissioned. Must have been written by somebody's mate from Cambridge so nobody bothered to read the script before handing over a chunk of the budget.

I didn't realise Stag was billed as a comedy....I assumed it was some sort of satire/parable about bankers getting their comeuppance. But now it looks as though we're supposed to feel sympathy for the 'victims', I don't get it at all.

But about Shetland, how did Leanne know who to leak Michael's whereabouts to? I didn't get that bit.

One of the deputies at the time of the murder has come out and said that she was surprised at home clean the Avery home was and she even commented on the unusually large amount of bottles of bleach that he owned. Obviously she's trying to say he cleaned his house to remove any evidence

Caught up with line of duty and it hasn't been a let down. Definitely recommend it if you like gripping police dramas. The first 2 series are available on Netflix as well for those who haven't seen it.

Also been watching the A Word about a couple who find out their child has autism and their struggles of living with his condition. Loving the characters, particularly the grandad played by the excellent Christopher Ecclestone. The young lad playing the autistic boy is also excellent.

Makes me wonder how many kids I grew up with who had a form or autism and we're just seen as weird at the time.

I watched a film the other night on Netflix called Trash which is set in Brazil and is mostly subtitled but is a really good film about a couple young kids who find a wallet while searching through the dump which leads to police after them, really good

Finally got round to watching the end of Season 7 the other day, a very enjoyable series.

Rashida Jones, who plays Anne in Parks and Recreation, has a new series starting on E4 next week called Angie Trebeca which might be worth a watch. From the clips it looks like a modern day Police Squad/Naked Gun/Airplane

I've watched series one through four.

One and two were very, very good and relatively faithful to the books. Three went it's own way a wee bit but was still canny. I thought four was a shitshow.

I've no interest in five or six at risk of possible spoilers.

It does take some perseverance because there are a lot of characters, and it tells it like it is, which means some of the accents and lingo is hard to follow at times. Worth it though, certainly doesn't glamorise either drug dealing or police work, and gives you a much better understanding of how society functions-why people make the choices they make.

Probably helps that a lot of it is based on real people.

That's why one of my favourite series is the shield. Very raw.

Last night watched the Bastards of Baseball on Netflix. Not really a Baseball fan, but was a really good documentary, on the Portland Mavericks Minor league team, founded by Bing Russell and his son Kurt played for them.

There are some pretty good films about American sport, which are about the worst sports there are.

Just goes to show you don't have to be interested in the subject matter if the film is well made.

Started watching The Five tonight, seen the first 2 episodes. I'll persevere but don't go out of your way, the storyline seems all over the place. Not too dissimilar to Marcella which I was looking forward to but have caught up this week and got to say, massively underwhelmed. Apart from Anna of course, stinking of fish or not
