Why have they never done a lie detector test I know they might not be able to use the result in court but if I was innocent of something like that I would been screaming for one Live on camera so the whole world could see

Her brother always came across as smug for some reason, I reckon him or her ex boyfriend who somehow guessed her mobile phone log in.

I don't even think the Manitowoc Sheriff Dept think Brendan Dassey is guilty, it just conveniently strengthens there case against Steven Avery. How anyone can watch that and think they're both guilty confounds belief.

When Brendan Dasseys lawyers mate starts crying when he sees the pink ribbon tied to a tree..... Oh my word did I shout some abuse at the telly. And the copper who emotionally blackmails Brendan Dassey into ringing his Mam and repeating his "confession", so it can be used in evidence against him. Corrupt and immoral doesn't cover it.

Me and our lass were shouting our heads off when that 'lovely lovely person' made Brendan draw that shit. The police pressured the shit out of him to make him make up a a story about something that never happened. He s didn't have a clue what was going on, especially when he asked if he could go at half 1 because he had a school project due even though 30 mins prior he was talking about slitting throats and rape. I hope to god the truth comes out and they are both released. It was laughable at times, only finding the key after the 4th time, the forensic expert contaminating the DNA and the one which was completely bizzare the cop who called in about Teresa's car, describing it then claiming never to have seen it.

I watched episode 3 n seen the end where it was obvious his blood had been tempered with n i thought thank god this is the moment he gets let off.

But the judge doesnt give a shit, no one seems too.

TBH i've only watched up to episode 7 i think i got too annoyed n angry to finish it, if it was a fictional story i'd say it's too far fetched.

It's hard to pick to worst culprit but that Ken Katz, after being found out as a sex pest, pretty much tried to use blackmail to cover it up and keep his job. It was quite easy to see what he was hinting at when he tried to keep his own misdemenour covered up by threatening to admit how corrupt the whole case was.

As stated by Steven's lawyers after the trial, Katz didn't answer any of the key questions they asked.

How they kept the same judge for the appeal is beyond ridiculous. There's also talk of jurors being threatened, that's what you'd expect from the mafia not the police.

A retrial with independant judge/jurors is the least both Steven and Brendan should get but it'll never happen.

The fat prick Kratz also got a nice hefty bonus for winning the trial against Avery.

Thought the lawyers were superb and couldn't of done any more. It's been mentioned a few times after the show that Kratz couldn't/wouldn't answer key questions such as

- The hole in the blood sample
- Why there was blood in the boot of her car even though she was apparently shot in the garage
- No blood in the garage

The list could go on and on.

I've sat and watch the whole thing over the last few days.

American 'justice' really stinks and I was appalled from episode 1 to 10.

Apart from the fact that I heavily think Teresa's ex-boyfriend or brother are more likely behind it (did you see their almost psychopathic lack of emotion throughout?) or how sussed their 'search' was, incidentally that kind of search, done by individuals would never be sanctioned on a person's private property in the UK. Only the police have the authority to do that.

As Chip says, their justice system is several hundred years behind ours and to the people who say that those charged here get too many rights, watch that series and come back and say that. Everyone deserves a fair crack of the whip and Steven/Brendan did not. How is it even possible to practically labotonise that kid, filling his head with crap without a fucking lawyer present? I mean, what a fucked up system they have. I feel that this programme could possibly be a landmark in US justice reform in the future, when those two eventually get exonerated. They didn't even get a fair trial with their saturated media coverage and the prosecution guys on TV every five minutes. Thank god that in the UK, when someone is charged with murder, you hear absolutely bot all until it goes to trial and that is the right thing to happen.

It was pretty obvious that Lenk and the other sergeant planted evidence, but did the defence have concrete proof that they did? Unfortunately not, little bits here and there and I believe them but without having any witnesses come forward to verify, your case has a weakness. I have a feeling that someone very close to Halbach killed her and was in cahoots with a handful of resentful individuals in Manitowoc to fit Avery up.

Btw, i know verbalkint originally recommended 'beasts of a nation' but what a fantastic film that is. Brutal but I don't doubt not in any way far fetched. Quite disturbing actually.

I watched "Whiplash" the other day. JK Simmons won an oscar for his role as an ultra-demanding music teacher. Miles Teller is great as the drummer as well. Definately worth a watch.

Watched The Big Short last night, a story of crooks robbing crooks and leaving the poor to suffer but a very good film. Didn't like the start when it kept flicking between pictures with a black pause between each one mind!

Whiplash didn't sound my type of film but give it a go after good reviews and it was very enjoyable.

The Hornet's Nest - Forget any war film you've watched as far as realism goes, as this is a docufilm with a war journalist who takes his son with him to tag along with US Marines in Afghan. They're both right in the shit and come under fire several times so if you can get past the irritating yank accents it's a very honest and disturbingly harrowing insight into what the Marines get upto. They also manage to show it without displaying any of the many casualties and remain respectful throughout.

I am half way through Making a murder and I have to say as an ex forensic scientist I am cannot believe the level of incompetency shown by the SOCO's and also the idiot DNA analyst in the case. If this was in the UK it would have been thrown out. Having worked with a lot of blood evidence in my time and also extracting DNA from substances how any of this even got to court is a mystery.

1) Any Forensic Scientists who deviates from the protocol in this country would do it once and be out of a job, all of your work from this point is not admissible in court. You cannot "use common sense" when a negative sample had failed through contamination. You run the sample again and all this bollocks about they only running it once is horse shit. You dilute the sample and have another backup incase of a fuck up. Also "talking" near a sample wouldnt put saliva on it (you have a face mask on) basically this analyst is incompetent and how she is teaching anyone is a mystery.

2) How can there be no evidence at all of the young lads DNA be anywhere

3) None of her DNA on the car key?

4) I was a fingerprint expert for two years and there not to be a single latent print on the Rav 4 if he was anywhere near it and had his blood on there due to a finger cut is basically laughable

5) If she was shot in the garage why isnt there any blood at all in there, when you shoot someone even forensic specalists couldnt cover that up in that garage full of crap.

6) No blood on bed when she was ment to be stabbed and neck cut.

I am sorry but this women wasnt killed in the garage or his house based on what I have seen so far and the evidence should have been thrown out.

Tempted by Limitless but got plenty to watch.

Watched Vinyl last night, HBO series about 70s music industry which Mick Jagger has helped produce and even has his son in. Enjoyed the 2 hour long pilot episode so going to stick with it.

Better Call Saul is also back on in case anyone has missed that.

Where you on about how they just rushed through a "new" EDTA technique for the blood? I was involved in the introduction of the automated procedure to extract DNA from buckle swabs using a new procdure moving from a manual method to decrease error rate. This took over a year to validate and get the SOP's correct. The FBI didnt even know the base line for EDTA detection and couldnt determine if there was a presence or not. That Link fella is a sumbag and shouldnt have been a million miles from any investigation as he had a very big conflict of interest from the previous rape case. I am not saying he did or didnt commit the murder but the who investigation from top to bottom stinks and I cannot believe the brass neck of them all.

Surely can't be much story left to tell for the second series of Narcos? I know it's more about the DEA's investigation into Pablo than Pablo himself but unless they're going to delve into other drug lords who followed Pablo it's going to be a dragged out series. Still, I look forward to watching it as if it's half as good as the first it'll still be a good watch.

That was an awful scene to watch asking to sketch a made up murder scene. I hope to god that every fucker associated with the case gets their comeuppance. Especially Kratz for telling the media how the murder happened months before it even went to trial, that is already putting a story in the minds of the potential jurors. I mean the whole key thing is completely laughable and embarrassing.

I read the other day that the writers are potentially looking at focusing on the death of Escobar in the early episodes of S2 then the remaining episodes about what the drug world looked like after his death. With it being called Narcos and not related to Pablo it could potentially run.

I've just watched Erasurehead. By far the strangest music biopic I've ever seen - and it didn't even include 'A Little Respect.' Whitewash.

Slightly but it explains everything in the first episode. The film is definitely worth a watch though.

I've just watched a brilliant subtitled film called

Naked Among Wolves

It's about a three year old boy found in the suitcase of a Jewish inmate of a concentration camp and the lengths they went to to hide him from the SS, it's brutal at times and is painful to watch some of the things but it's a great film
