eliminated himself. On the other hand, Gove is now standing. Is there anywhere in the world a piece of unadulterated good news?

I've heard a whisper that he's been told that if he runs, the file that the papers have on him will be published. Interesting claim about his wife...

Also that Gove was supporting Boris for PM in exchange for Johnson backing the leave campaign even though he didn't actually want to leave the EU or think it was at all a good idea. I think they both hoped for a close enough Remain victory and for Cameron to stand down anyway.

Isn't it wonderful that the future of our country has been fucked over by lies designed to further people's political careers? You could see the terror Boris's face last Friday morning.

There you go, in one post it goes from 'what the fat bloke down the pub said' to underpinning an alleged statement of fact.

John Etheridge The Suns cricket correspondent has just Tweeted it so I'm pretty sure we can take it as a statement of fact.

There's probably something like that afoot...though myself I can't imagine anything so much worse than the plethora of unsavoury facts known about him already. (I mean allegations, obviously...)

Could be simply that his endless machinations have finally snared him in an inescapable knot.

Sure his wife's a lawyer? Word is she was doing some thing outside that's illegal if done outside. And she wasn't doing it with Boris.

Not something reckless involving a gas supply? Or doing something with wiring without the requisite qualification?

I've been told what it actually is. I'm speechless. I thought many Tories had an attitude of being above the law, but this is disgusting.

Boris the Bottler.

I wonder how many of the leavers did it to have Boris as PM.

Michael Hesseltines comments about him today may well have permanently destroyed his political career.

And that after being stabbed by his "friend" Michael Gove. And what anodious fucker he is.

51% of the population voted for these two idiots.

And where has the clown of the troupe disappeared to, Nigel Charlie Cairoli farage?

Talk about rats and sinking ship. Two main instigators of this whole fiasco, Boris and that odious greasy little twat Farage have disappeared after throwing the grenade into the room and f....cked off leaving it all to that other waste of space Gove who has totally failed at education secretary and health. God help us all

It's totally embarrassing.
The worst thing is, when the dust settles people are still going to take these people seriously. The nation is fucked. Or rather it isn't likely to be unfucked any time soon.

this whole episode seems to have been a ruse by a couple of torieslooking to further their personal ambitions and using a few pawns, farage, to help them.

But they won........it wasnt in the plan.

Cameron resigned........also wasnt in the plan.

Gove realised that Boris couldnever be leader, and so publicly shafted him.

So now we end up with a tory government, unelected leader, having to come up with a plan to exit the EU, which they really dont want to do.

The opposition, though in complete disarray, also dont want them to do it.

It seems only Farage does, and he has no more power than I do.

So now we have a government saying there is no way back.........................bizarrely...............from something we havent actually left.

Only Tam Dalyell, is prepared to say it like it is, by telling the MP's to grow a pair, and govern like they are allowed to by the constitution, and telling the public to do one over the referendum.

Its a farce that the carry on team could never have got away with.

and still I wait forsomeone on here, who voted leave, to explain why, and what they think is going to happen.

I am beginning to think none of them have any idea, why or how.

I think you' ll find that Blackadder was not the definitive history of how World War One was conducted. The worlds first industrial world war was a tad more complicated than that

Pretty comprehensive run-down here by a poster called Markear, in response to Marina Hyde's article in the Guardian today. A suspicious person might need to ask: how much did Boris pay Gove to stand?

"So Boris wants to run for PM after someone else has had to deal with the coalition of the damned (leavers). A coalition that is an unhappy wish mash of:

1. Disenfranchised former labour voters who perceive that they are being ignored left behind/are being ignored and left behind.
2. Extremist free-marketeers who believe in no state intervention or regulation of trade.
3. The frightened who have fallen for 30 plus years of project fear about johnny foreigner
4. People who believed that 350m a week would go to the NHS and immigration would go down.
5. Thick people.
6. Racists and xenophobes.
7. People who are genuinely concerned that the EU's economic policies lack coherence as evidenced by horrible rates of youth unemployment in parts of the continent.
8. People who thought it would teach the government a lesson and mistook Europe for domestic policy.
9. People who feel that their lives have been affected negatively by inward migration (often at quite a pace and concentrated in specific areas).
10. Plus any others you can reasonably think of.

These are not a coherent group to negotiate with, they want different outcomes and have differing beliefs.

No wonder Boris the slacker wants someone else to take that task on."

Thats a long word for an idiot. Even if it is made up.
