Firstly, bonjourno from Ravello

Just looking at the line up for the first test tomorrow and with laws, launchbury, ford, nowell and care all named as replacements we really have an impressively strong squad. Okay we have an awful record in oz and Australia are a top side but no excuses tomorrow, I fancy us to win

For the first time I don't think Eddie Jones has picked his strongest team. He seems to be doing exactly what caused Lancaster to fail: fixing stuff that doesn't need fixing and not fixing stuff that does. The worst error is omitting Nowell. Just behind is not modernising the back row. Hope I'm proved wrong.

We were under immense pressure for twenty minutes - looked like a hammering - but, full marks, we murdered them until the last ten minutes.

Haskell - Genius

And Hartley is growing in stature..........

Proud to be (an egg chasing) Englishman, on a day when so many are embarrassing us in France...

Just shows whay can happen when you make a bold managerial decision.

He has transformed that team already.

And he is brutal with it.

I think I heard our previous highest points total scored in oz was 23 which really puts into perspective what a fantastic result it was.

Australia will be desperate to win next week to avoid the series defeat but I now fancy us to win all 3 matches

I was at the game last night and England were immense! The had to fight for every point and tackle they won. I somehow ended up sat with the players who weren't selected, the solidarity in the team was great to see as they were all passionate about the game and cheered on every play!

If you mean recognizing a change was needed after 20 minutes instead of plodding on regardless, I'd call it inspired rather than bold. Best tactical intervention ever.

It really pisses me off when clever twats bring up their own previous posts to say 'I told you so' bbolt

Fantastic series, fantastic effort and with the U20s winning the world junior championship, the future really does look good. Amazing turnaround since Eddie Jones took over.

Digging up old told-you-sos, eh? OK!

It took 20 minutes for him to come over to my way of thinking as regards 10 & 11.

It took him a whole game to do that though. :naughty:

Oh didn't he just prove me wrong! This is why he's England manager, not me.

As an aside, what a game that last test was. Almost the equivalent of a 6-5 in footy. Seven changes of lead. 30 players giving 100% (15 out of the 30 on the back of one of the most gruelling seasons ever with the World cup, European rugby cups, Six Nations, Prem league, and league play-offs and final).

It doesn't make up for the World Cup failure but it does make the future look a hell of a lot brighter.
