Is the cultural divide so great that they can drink, enjoy themselves and not embarrass their country?

I hope they win

Yes because those Cardiff and Swansea fans are all lovely people who have never caused a hint of trouble anywhere.

You seriously want Wales to win because we have a small percentage of absolute pond life amongst tens of thousands of people who are out there doing exactly what you say?

Fuck that bollocks.

I'm not drinking any this afternoon.

Why do people who don't eat meat or drink or are vegans who don't drink spend lots of time making sure everyone knows that? Very strange. Your decision up to you it certainly doesn't make you better than anyone who does enjoy a drink, far from it.

My rarfometer is going crazy here like I've never seen smoke coming off it and I didn't even know it had a siren.

I love North Wales, and wish I could speak the lingo. But I'm not Welsh. And I don't think I've every heard 'boyo' in North or mid-Wales, only in the South.

I call all my male friends and acquaintances boyo, they have never complained and when I managed 350 of them and used the term( when you can`t remember their name), dim problem!

One of the few bits of Welsh I know; dim parcio! I presume you know how to pronounce Effion's name then?

To be fair, MB only disclosed the fact he doesn't drink because I replied to one of his posts by saying, 'kids, don't drink and post'! I think you've made reference to him not drinking more than he has. It's true likes to wind you up, but you should take a look in the mirror too.

An F is a V sound, no F in the Welsh alphabet, watched him play for Caernarfon Town in 96 and was a class above the others.
I can understand it better than speak it, it is difficult to learn, got myself a Welsh speaking girlfriend and just picked it up over the years, lapsed lately but my brother has moved to Betws-y-coed so frequent trips lie ahead.
Have you tried Cadwaladers ice cream?

I played cricket with a lad who went to School with Effion, so what little Welsh I know comes from him. Our cricket tour was always in mid Wales, and I've been on holiday to Harlech and that coast many times.

Used to work with another Williams from Anglesey fluent Welsh Speaker too. He'd jump into Welsh in an instance when there was a queue outside the phone box. First time I met him I said, "What are you a blue or a red "..He replied "Neither I'm a fucking white." ..thinking he was a scouser I said, " Oh do you support Tranmere?" ..He replied, "Fuck off I support Leeds.". :(

Spent some time working in Caernarfon and Bangor, Caernarfon was predominately Welsh language area, they didn't like the English very much. Bangor was different it being a University town.
Both places had huge social problems more so Caernarfon, there was at the time 2003, no jobs, nought.
Hartlepool is like Las Vegas compared to both of the places, it was like going back to the sixties era.

2003 was the year I left, Caernarfon`s dislike of the English comes from English people moving to the area and expecting the locals to then speak to them in English, if you don`t integrate then they alienate you.
I learnt the lingo, as through discussions with my staff, they said that this was the biggest thing that pissed them off, even though my pronunciation wasn`t always correct, they appreciated the effort.
All my neighbours first language was Welsh, should I expect them all to speak English?, well that is what the retirees who moved to their newly purchased cottages did!
My biggest regret is leaving the area, although I wouldn`t have my two beautiful kids if I hadn`t, swings and doofers eh!

I asked Eifion how to pronounce his name properly, and the best way to describe it is like 'Eye-fyon'.

I always thought 'Effy-on' like most people pronounced it sounded like a weak erection, possibly even worse than a semi. As in 'I was that blaked, I could only get an effy-on.'
