Word is we're signing a striker from Grimsby today. Only one who fits the description I have been given is Padraig Amond, 30 league goals last season. Anyone heard the same?

Not a striker, but apparently Toto Nsiala (from Grimsby) is having a medical.

6ft 4 defender, he should do well to...hold the line.

Certainly stories coming out of Grimsby accordingly to various Twitter links.

Hartley is being lined up in replacement.....

Just thinking what an opportunity it would for Higgy to announce or even introduce a new signing at the Centenary Lounge before the England v Wales game.

It would be more apt to announce it on here. 270 people online as I type.

I doubt anywhere else has this many pools fans in one place on a non match day.

Journo who broke the story is a friend of mine and had this to say on Nsiala: "You're getting a good central defender with the capability of making the odd slip, hence his level. Can be/look a bit laid back & casual at times but for the most part a solid player."

Sounds like we've beaten a few other L2 clubs to his signature too.

Bitter Grimsby not nice people.

That person is always moaning like ****, makes me laugh. :)

Anyway, I guess Nsiala wanted a fresh challenge, I can't see it being a wages issue. He also got a lot of flack at an away game at Halifax in February 2016 with allegations of racial abuse, which he didn't pursue further. Maybe this was the deciding factor.

Like previously mentioned, he's quick, played at right-back a few times when needed, makes the odd mistake, but who doesn't. He's a good defender and will do a great job for you, he's got what it takes to move up the leagues in my opinion, some may beg to differ.

He was a main part of the team being promoted, so I'll be forever greatful to him.

Striker from Chesterfield, Orrell. Can't remember the others, it's been a summer like no other.

I thought it was agreed, any players appearing on the OS would first need to take fashion tips from the bunker banghead

Odd that a club that has finally made it back to the FL is selling one of their key players to a rather average club in the same league.

Not selling, he was out of contract and chose us over them and other League 2 clubs. Sounds like they lost a few key players now.

Going against the grain here but I like Toto's look. He's taken the classic polo shirt and given it a new twist with added texture and a zip. Could prove to be the defensive fashion leader we need. Hope he plays in red boots.

I'm sure he was mentioned some months ago, I asked one of our techs about him as he a Grimsby season ticket holder and he said 'Padge' is a class act and would surely take a big fee for them to sell. Unless now out of contract? Sounds like all Grimsby players are jumping ship

From watching YouTube clips, looks like a decent finisher with both head and feet who thrives off crosses.

Those figures are nothing compared with Michael Mackay’s pre-Pools.

(But they sure as hell beat his figures after he signed.)
