Random one for here but can't find an answer online (for once).

Do teams have to stay in the country where the tournament is held? Seems to me that there's little point in England being in France out of game time since they are staying in the North where there is little climate difference and they'll still be flying around the country a bit for games.

A private jet to Marseille or Paris from somewhere near St George's park the day before games wouldn't be much of a strain physically or financially!

Feasible they could have stayed at St Georges Hall, no need to fly the WAGS out.
They have taken all the 92 rooms in a hotel in Northern France didn't think the squad was that big although there will probably more FA staff than players.
The first game is in Marseille which is in southern France so that's a fair old trek.
The rooms can cost up to £500 a night, at the end of the day it's the fans who are paying for it one way or another.

They could have used the Rec and stayed in spare rooms at people's houses for nowt. Most people would be happy to put an England international up now that John Terry has fucked off.

Add in a couple of military helicopters to fly them direct to the stadiums in France and they'd have saved enough to make all the group games 50p in for England fans. But did the bastards do any of that? Did they fuck.

The people I loathe, hate and despise above all others, although I've never actually met any of them, all work in French Air Traffic Control. Apparently there were over 170 flights from the British Isles cancelled last month due to a strike by French Air Traffic Control.

Throw in French fishermen, yes please, who have a penchant for blockading Channel ports and the potential for things to go tits up in the Channel Tunnel and England are right to stay in France now that Pools have nicked their first choice of Tenerife.

It's all blockades over here at the minute Mr Ritzik. The blockades block the roads to the airports so the air traffic controllers have to strike on the days they can get to work. That's assuming they've got petrol to get to work after the refinery blockades of course. Farmers are quiet though and that's never a good sign so I'm expecting some slow moving tractor convoys on major roads during the Euros.
