I know it's beneath the notice of the armchair sports fans, but great to see Durham CCC upsetting the odds yet again in the four day game.

They started the county championship with no money (again), favourites to be relegated (again), and most of the experienced, quality players they have got out injured - now including Chris Rushworth, who took 86 wickets last season.

Never mind - with Graham Onions and 3 kids no-one has ever heard of (Weighill, Carse and McCarthy) - the Durham seam attack is yet again taking wickets for fun. Just skittled out table topping Warwickshire for 114 second innings and will go top or second top if they can knock off a couple of hundred runs in the next day and a half.

Maybe they'll still get beat in this one and they've got no chance of winning the title, but talk about team spirit!

I was there yesterday and it's shaping up to be a good finish tomorrow. The pitch is doing a lot, so I'm not overly confident of a win. I'm working from home tomorrow so may make the short trip down there.

It should be a good final day. Having Jennings well set on 88 and Collingwood at the crease will help Durham but Warwicks have a good bowling attack. Keith Barker has been one of the stand out performers with the ball for a couple of seasons now.

The new regulations pertaining to the toss have certainly had a more profound effect than I thought they would. Records for first innings scores have been tumbling so far this season.

Durham are bringing up some good young players. As well as the bowlers there's Jack Burnham who had a good U19 World Cup recently.

Just as well seeing as Durham are discouraged from signing an overseas player this season.

Had it not been for some bad weather they'd have had a couple of more wins as well. 'Experts' tip them to struggle because they have no foreign players and relying on kids but those kids are keeping the experience already there out of the team. Its early stages but they have 4 batsmen averaging over 50 and young lads with some of the best bowling averages going so far. Admittedly in the first T20 game last week it went a bit wrong without an experienced bowler in the team but they'll learn from that.

Straightforward win this morning. You could see the Warwickshire players had given up after the first half hour.

Durham's man of the match was surely Ben Stokes poorly knee which removed a bloke who'd taken 9 for 30 from the match!?
