For me that turtleneck is a shocker and I live in France where they have perfected the shocking turtleneck look.

But also glad he's signed, if he stays fit a big player for us

I just dislike it. It is totally weird, even though I'm not usually a fashion police sort of person. Hope it wasn't 'buy one get one half price'.

(On the other hand, Happy new contract, Mr Bates.)

Annoys me when people call turtleneck's polonecks.

Didn't happen here but annoys me all the same.

Turtlenecks were polo necks before the Americans came along.
Anyway, does he have a special pair of trousers?

Concurring on the turtleneck.

From being a liability in the team at one stage (Blyth was probably the nadir I'd say) he's been a rock and the first name on the team sheet in my view.

It's probably just me picturing him naked from the waste down with a full bonk on.

I only saw that picture once and its rarely far from my thoughts whenever I see or hear of him.

I agree this should be checked out. The tops of the trousers look acceptable enough, but how do we know there isn't a black stripe at the knee, and then a totally different colour?

The whole look is wrong. The combination of wide bands of colour and a silly haircut make him look like he has been made out of layers of cake. Bit surprised Russ didn't attack him with some squirty cream and a spoon.

And turtle or polo neck they are still shit jumpers that nobody should wear. As Mr Dalton's haircut rightly points out they are designed for French people with thin necks who feel the cold.

The pitch is 'greening up' unevenly. Sort it out Dave!

Can I add, I quite like the turtleneck look and used to where it well in the 80s (well I like to think so) but don't have the belly for it now :uhoh:

The brown and grey combo clearly just doesn't go, what was he thinking. In fact, surely the club should encourage players to come on here before for fashion advice before getting any pics taken as clearly, they aren't getting it from their team mates.

Was pretty warm today, found it very close on my walk up to morrisons.

If Matty had that on at pools today he would have been sweating buckets.

Putting all of the very relevant turtleneck points to one side, why is Russ Green always the man in the pictures for new signings? I appreciate he was and as chief exec. should be involved in signings, but surely the club should show the manager with new or re-signed players?

I'm not sure I care whether Russ Green is happy to sign a player, especially when I think about some of the crap signings he's been involved with over the years.

The manager identifies the players he wants to sign or keep after that his involvement is over, do you seriously think in this day and age that managers sit and talk about wages and contract details?

No I don't. As I said, Russ Green should be the one involved in contract talks, I'm just saying that in my opinion fans would rather see the manager being the person in the news story to show his involvement and highlight what he thinks the player will add etc.

Maybe the manager is on holiday? Why does it matter who's in the picture? I'd rather Mila Kunis was in the picture than either Russ or Craig personally.

Yes, some do, have you a list of the ones that don`t?

It depends on the size of club, some managers do in the lower leagues, I know the manager at Caernarfon Town does if that helps!
