In the N. Ireland squad. Think he is unlucky not to get in the squad like, we are very lucky to have him as our keeper.

Think he's unlucky, don't know anything about the other two but surely he's better than Roy Carroll now? The Notts fans don't rate him at all and even Trev said in the press that Roy was sure he'd miss out. He also said he'd cry if he didn't make the squad so I bet he's in bits now. Feel for him.

Carson is better than Carroll but given the 3rd choice keeper isn't likely to play much. Carroll gives more experiance and played more in qualifying, so probably adds more as a 3rd choice keeper to the squad as a whole.

I would think that's the thinking not that I agree with it

Carson never expected to be in the squad, he said as much. The NI manager is being loyal to the squad that got them qualified.

Carson will be a shoe in after the euros and for many years to come.

The first choice keeper, Michael McGovern is a pretty capable keeper. Probably about the same in ability as Carson.

I can't see Carroll playing on much longer given he is 38 and lost his place in the Notts County team for a few weeks towards the end of the season so a place will be opening soon you'd have thought. Also all of their keepers apart from Carson are over 31 so unless some young keeper emerges its just a case of biding his time.
