Back up nice one, the league has a nice Northern feel hopefully Accrington stay down aswell so lots of reasonable away days. Good news for us in terms of away fans imagine Grimsby should be able to fill the away end possibly, only a shame York are gone !

The last time I can remember us playing them in League Two was a Boxing Day game and they brought about 300.

Unless we play them at home first game of the season I very much doubt they would bring enough to even half fill the away end.

Agree though that I'd rather have them in the League than Forest Green.

Thought the last time we played them was when we beat them 8 1. Or was that the season before.

Didn't think the 8/1 was as far back as that.

Last I heard, Robinson was working in construction - or something like that. He looks rough as owt now-a-days, mind. I know he's played sporadically in the Northern League so it wouldn't be too surprising he's playing Sunday League footy in Sunderland; a certain Ryan Noble played in that division not long ago! Noble delivers pizzas for Dominos in Sunderland now after (allegedly) spunking a few grand in the casino in Sun'lun. Bit of a fall from grace from being on the cusp of Premier League football...

Still though, good to see a proper club like Grimsby back in the Football League.

Someone was telling me not so long back that Paul Robinson was still playing in the Sunday morning league in Sunderland, on the dole, and living with his mam.

Not sure if it's true, but that game was probably the last highlight of his " career "

Was talking to him a couple of years ago when he was a delivery driver for City Link, he was just about to get a players pension of some kind from the league and was going to have six weeks off, often used to see him around in his van, don't know if he was still working for them when they went bust. He did mention how pissed off he was to be subbed in the Grimsby match.

Didn't he have the shame of being a sub sub?

Never seen a player start so well then fall off as quickly as him.

Excellent chippy near the ground in Grimsby. I don't think the same could be said for Forest Green.

Only ever been to Grimsby once, a 3 nil defeat on the last game of the season around 1988/89

The only time I've ever been punched going to football

Looking forward to a trip back there

Think from memory I can only remember him and Istead being a sub sub (due to shitness rather than injury anyway)

My memory says that Jermaine Easter had a sub sub under Neale Cooper as well?!

Can remember Bjornsson being brought off just before half time one game, almost as embarrassing as being a sub sub.

Not sure whether Easter got sub2ed or not but I do remember Cooper saying something like "if he can't be arsed to run after the ball I can't be arsed to select him any more".

Grimsby have been taking loads away in the Conference, so I'd wager their following up here will be decent.
