Stopped reading after Paynter out.

At the end granted.

But give your head a shake.

Heard someone at half time yesterday say they think Paynter looks finished. Which considering he is our top scorer, seemed just a tad odd.

I don't think Paynter looked fully fit yesterday but it was his first match back after injury. I think Hignett will have a decent clear out this summer I think the ones who will be going are Kudus, Ebby, Richards, Walker, Fenwick, Smith and Green.

Bit strange to say, but we need a fair out but not many in. Get rid of a lot of the fringe players and have a good quality squad rather than a large, poor one. Would prefer youngsters coming though as back up, plus as we have seen it is easy enough to utilise the loan market if we needed to.

3-4 quality additions over the spine of the team for me.

I see where the 'deluded' comes from now. Did you just cut and paste ths electoral roll?
The only people missing from that list are Mother Teresa and Albert Einstein.

The players listed here are those who I feel Hignett will release or feel are not required or won't be here. Not necessarily who I would choose .

I have listed the loanees and obviously unless new deals are struck then that's likely.

I could see Jones being added to the coaching staff , hopefully Jackson is released by Premier bound Boro and stay here.

Listening Hignett's comments after the game he basically said we had chances, more than Pompey yet didn't take them , he went on to say he and Curtiss Fleming has identified targets and dialogue has began with them.

I have put Paynter's name there I as feel Hignett would sacrifice him in favour of a younger forward to lead the line. Yes he is our top scorer but also injury prone and like yesterday can be quite anonymous in a game. Unlike other managers listening to Hignett and him as a player I think he has a ruthless streak other managers here haven't and will be prepared to make sacrifices for the way he wants the team he has said himself the defence is that now of a promotion side but not the forwards.

Depends on contracts, so imagine some will stay for that reason, otherwise

Ebby Nelson-Addy
Kudus Oyenuga
Scott Fenwick
Harry Worley
Rakish Bingham
Kieron Green
Rob Jones
Jordan Richards

Dan Jones is good cover for defence. Scott Harrison disappointed but POTY last season? Oates probably has a contract but i thought looked much better in the middle yesterday, finishing apart from the finishing. Walker is still young but either needs an attitude shake up or we may as well let him go, partying? Bingham is a disappointment, would have been interresting him and Oates up front.

So we need a centre half, a forward/winger and an attacking midfielder (Walker/Gray style). Otherwise loans can cover in crisis.

Heard this last week and then Hignett touched upon at the weekend in that the loan rules change next year, whereby you can only sign loan players from window to window or for the full season ie. You can't just plug a gap here and there, you have to pick the loanees more carefully as you are stuck with them for the full transfer window minimum. No doubt this will work both ways where some players may not wish to commit for a longer loan period.

Higgy set to inform the players who are going and staying before the game at Plymouth.

Bit of a novelty releasing players in batches. I wonder what that's about?

Maybe not 100% made his mind up, those 3 were always going to go. Could depend on what is available in the summer, might not want to release somebody just yet until we have a player lined up to replace.

Dunno - a retained list is usually clear enough and they nearly always come out in the week or so following the end of the season. The 3 named now are all at the end of their contracts. Maybe there are players with an option on another year (the usual Pools deal under IOR) that the club is still negotiating with? Can imagine one or two are on definite 2 year deals that Hignett wants to try to cancel.

I'm sure he's 100% made his mind up he said as much a couple of weeks ago, those three aren't going to be involved in Saturday that's probably why they've been announced now.

Also Moore suggested only 5 senior players are out of contract, it might be the case that not as many players are out of contract as some would have hoped.
